Like a shepherd, he will care for his flock, gathering the lambs in his arms, hugging them as he carries them home...Isaiah 40:15,16 |
Single, widowed, divorced or married, women 'home alone' have many of the same problems. |
A few years ago I read a book " Women Home Alone" by Patricial H. Sprinkle. That book inspired me to help other women that may be 'Home Alone'. The good Lord must have directed me to this book and I would like to share some of my thoughts and inspirations resulting from reading it. Ma Rainey |

1. Isolation. Nobody is there in times of Crisis. Nobody to share little joys and understand special moments. 2. Inconvenience. Nobody lends a hand. - Nobody to put that finger on a knot, or open the door and hand the towel. 3. Indecisiion. Having to make all the decisions alone.. 4. Lack of respect. Decision making is made more difficult by lack of respect by Mechanics, contractors, bankers, sales persons, doctors and the list goes on and on. 5.Loneliness. Definitely one of the hardest parts. Even a mother of preschoolers feels lonely. Widows and divorcees no longer have the friends they did when they were a couple. 6.Burn out. There comes a point when we are just totally overwhelmed with the burdens of financial, social and domestic life. |

Yes, there are some benefits we share: 1. Freedom. We can curl up with a good book, fix dinner or not, be messy or clean - nobody complains. 2. More time for prayer. If your alone you use the time ordinarily spent with family or friends to pray more. 3. More time for others. If my family or husband were still home, I'd not have the time I do now for others. 4. Friendships. Women 'alone' develop friendships they might not have otherwise had. They go to movies, dine out together or just sit and swing on the porch and have ice tea. |
