Did the death of Sirius Black make you really depressed, grieved, angry, confused, or possibly lost in the world? Me too. I compiled this list for fellow Padfoot fans that are still thinking about Sirius months after O.O.T.P. and need ways to express or get rid of their emotions. These coping mechanisms, links, interesting facts, pictures, thoughts and other random odds and ends are for you. Submit an addition to the list or tell me what you think of it here. Enjoy…

  1. The simplest way to deal with anything is denial.
  2. Submit your fanfiction, fanart, poems, or letters of grief to Padfoot Forever where they will be mailed with the works of other Sirius fans to Rowling herself in a big package.
  3. Cut the skin to the bone/fall asleep all alone/hear your voice in the dark/lose myself in your eyes choke my voice say goodnight/as the world falls apart...the last star left in heaven/is falling down to earth/-blink 182
  4. Know your godfather? Spend more time with him and show him how much you love him. Don’t know him? Get to! Don’t have one? Adopt someone you admire to be yours.
  5. Want a big black canine companion of your own? Go here to find the location of your local Humane Society and what’s involved in adopting a dog.
  6. Stop, I repeat, stop misspelling “serious” as “sirius.”
  7. Sirius falls through the arch on page 806 in O.O.T.P. Honor his death and wear all black on August sixth (8/06)
  8. This might not have too terribly much to do with Sirius but his devil-may-care attitude and leather jacket remind me quite a bit of Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, some of the best new rock artists of the year.
  9. You must be 18 years or older to get your motorcycle license in most states in the U.S. It might not be able to fly…but oh well.
  10. Learn more about the island prison of Alcatraz in San Francisco, California, that held the most infamous criminals of the 1930s and 40s. Minus the dementor factor, it’s a lot like Azkaban and has a fascinating history.
  11. Create your own site in honor of Padfoot, hey if I can do it so can you!!!
  12. Ever wanted to ask Sirius, James, Remus, or Peter a few questions? Check out this hilarious section of Marauding Mayhem, where the fans that created the site assume the roles of all four Marauders for some humorous Q&A.
  13. There’s no better way to show your devotion than with a Sirius Lives shirt or mug from this shop.
  14. You’re falling out of reach/defying gravity/I know you’re out there/Somewhere out there/You’re falling back to me/A star that I can see/I know you’re out there/Somewhere out there/~Our Lady Peace
  15. You know that awful, sneaky, slimy, evil, patronizing git you hate so much? Come on no matter how kind you are you have one. Whether its in the workplace or at school there’s someone who’s always getting you when your back is turned, or muttering insults whenever you walk by. Don’t put up with it any longer. Humiliate them Padfoot and Prongs style in front of a whole group of people, muhahaha.
  16. Sirius is the largest and brightest star in the sky. Located in the greater dog constellation, Canis Major, it is known as “The Dog Star.” It can easily be seen in the winter by locating Orion’s belt, three stars in the Orion constellation. If you follow these three stars, you will see Sirius, just above the horizon. Ancient Egyptians started calling Sirius the dog star after their god Osiris and because it shone for most of their summer they believed it to be responsible for the heat. The expression “the dog days of summer” comes from this belief.
  17. Go here to view “sightings” of Sirius Black and submit your own to be posted.
  18. Make each full moon a fun night out with your buddies. Maybe you can’t all transform into animals but I’m sure you can find some other way to bond.
  19. “Black” in French is “noir.”
  20. The P.O.A. movie doesn’t come out until later this year but you can go here for everything from cast interviews to teasers. Have you seen the promotional wanted posters at movie theaters and been disappointed in the fact the most handsome Marauder is being played by Gary Oldman? Sign my best friend’s petition Depp for Black!
  21. “If you want to know what a man is like, take a good look at how how treats his inferiors, not his equals.” - Sirius to Ron in book four.
  22. “I think what I was trying to do with the death in this book was show how very arbitrary and sudden death is. This is a death where you didn't have a big death bed scene. It happened almost accidentally and that is one of the very cruel things about death and they're now in a war situation where that really does happen, where one minute you're talking to your friend and the next minute he's gone. It's so shocking and so inexplicable… "Where did they go?" I found it upsetting to write, because I knew what it would mean to Harry.” –JK Rowling. From black abyss, which in my opinion is the best Sirius site ever made…
