Just My Opinion!! |

Tomb Raider, Lara Croft (It's a video game, what did you expect... I love it!) |
Due to my new found freedom and spare time I decided I would take advantage to cheaper Matinee movie features at my new theatre just down the road, the Paramount in the Chinook Center. I am an avid fan of special effects, lighting fast action, blazing firearms and beautiful women. I figured Lara Croft, Tomb Raider would be a good choice. I checked out several reviews before deciding to go. CNN called it "A Dull Game Of Tomb Raider" and hints towards the characters being shallow and not well defined. The movie relys on action and effects with little to no dialog. NO SHIT!!! It is a movie based on a friggin' video game, you want deep insight into the human condition or a commentary on the world and where it is going, go rent Ghandi for Christ sakes! This movie was made for one reason, to appease the testosterone surging males who go out in droves to buy and play these video games. These same males that have fantasized about an intimate encounter with Lara Croft (Or hell, Jessica Rabbit or even Betty Ruble or Judy Jetson) come on, admit it, you've all thought about it!! Enter in the equation: Angelina Jolie, unbelievably sexy pouting lips, beautiful face, exceptional ass and one of the greatest set of knockers in Hollywood (They actually get more screen time than her face!) She is everything Lara Croft is supposed to be, so much so that from now on Lara is Angelina and Angelina is Lara. It is alot more than just looks, I have to give credit when credit is due. Angelina did an amazing job in the physical work department, I don't believe I could have kept up with her. All the stunts, running, jumping, tumbling and fighting, this girl worked hard. I also believe that her work paid off in full, I think the film did exactly what it set out to do. Provide two hours of good entertainment and dazzling effects, great action and a good bit of fun. I was pleased and just kept rolling my eyes at the critics. So it wasn't the strongest storyline ever written, so they threw science and physical laws out the window... welcome to video games! All in all I would recommend this film to anyone who likes fast action, flashy effects and not much touchy, emotional babble. Go figure, the critics hated it so I knew I'd love it! See ya at the movies! |
