| I was reading an article in CNN this morning when I came across a statement saying: "Members of the Zion Baptist Church in Glasgow waved placards urging revellers to listen to God rather than "satan-worshipping Marilyn Manson. Manson is quite simply sending the wrong message across and who knows what people might think or do after hearing him in Glasgow. Manson brainwashes people and that is a dangerous thing." CNN Well at least I fully agree with the last statement, brainwashing is a dangerous thing. I don't however agree with who is doing all the brainwashing. Manson has a rock act... thats right... ACT!! that sells alot of CDs and sells out concerts. He is in the business to make money, not brainwash anyone. The church on the other hand has been brainwashing people for hundreds of years and yes, they to are in the business of making money. If this were not true, somebody write me an email explaining why the Catholic Church, or more accurately the Vatican has more money and material wealth than most countries? Manson sings and people come to listen.. pretty simple isn't it? He doesn't have his "mindless sheep" waving placards in front of a church somewhere telling people not to go inside. I say it is in the name of Christ and God that people are being brainwashed! Hell, Manson asks for maybe $20 a CD and $40 - $50 for a concert, the church wants 10% of your gross salary. How do I know this? As a child I went to church, I listened to the minister ask for these things, even at the age of 10 I knew it was a scam! More proof and yet another chance to attack the Catholic Church, they are suppose to teach love and sharing. To help the poor and hungry, I wonder how many people they could feed buy selling a few of their "Priceless" works of at that adorn the walls of their great buildings? I don't see the pope leading buy any sort of example, but he does expect the poor ol' working stiff to fork over 10% to the church, pay his mortage, car payment, monthly bills, put food on the table plus help out the needy! I have a better idea... pay the 10% to the needy, screw the church! What do you ever get in return? If there is really even a heaven, do you think your going to buy your way there? I'd like to close with just this one thought, and I ask you to think about it too. The pastor Jack Glass stated: "Manson is quite simply sending the wrong message across and who knows what people might think or do after hearing him in Glasgow" I ask you this, how many people have suffered horrible pain, loss of loved ones and loss of their own lives in the name of Marilyn Manson? Now how about God? |
