Napster IS dead!
Well folks, I made the error of logging on to Napster tonight. I can't believe they are actually expecting people to pay for that crappy service. There are no songs available anymore. I mean who in their right mind is about to shell out anything for a service that has diminished over time. I tried several searches and all came up empty, I believe this is how the service is going to look after they start charging for it.... EMPTY!!
Needless to say I was really disappointed in what I saw there, so much so I un-installed Napster. It is a little sad, after all it was the most user friendly of all the MP3 resources to use. I will miss it but I would NEVER pay for it!
*Sigh* I guess there is always FTP, Gnutella (and off shoots) plus the sneaker net is still in full swing... (Thanks Dave!!)
The ability to get music for free has always been there and that will never change. Just because you are in a band entitles you to be a millionaire and drive a Ferrari?? I won't pay $20 - $25 for a CD anymore, I did that for years. Buy the CD and only one song that is even remotely decent... it is now my turn to collect
