I got back at midnight! It was a strange trip. Ok here goes:
We started out w/ my dad driving all of us at 6:00 ish, we hit rush hour, so we found the metro station close by, and we hopped on. We had a 20 minute ride to the stop near Constitution Hall where Marc was. The concert started at 8:00 pm. Geez, I had never rode the metro before, so it was different for me. THe problem was that here, it has been raininig and yucky out all day. So we made it to the stop near Constitution Hall, and got off. We had no clue which direction it was, but after asking around, we went. We walked in the freezing, pouring rain. We had to walk 5/6 blocks. We finally saw many people in front of a well lit place, yes it was Constitution Hall. Although, it was 6:45, and they had not opend teh doors yet, so we had to wait oustide crunched by many other people in the cold rain. I had stepped in so many large puddles, I was soaked by then. After waiting for 45 mins outside, we got to go in. It is such a beautiful place, very elegant. It is not that big either! We foudn our seats, and they were not that bad, well they were almost the highest seats, but that hall is so small. We had to wait such a long time for the concert to start, I think it started at almost 9:00 instead of 8:00. Joey Vega or whatever he is called, the comedian came on, and made jokes for a while. That was nice, but when he finished we had to wait another 20 mins for Marc to come on. let me tell you it was sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo exciting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just to see him live was the best feeling. I have been a fan of his music for a while now, and he is my favorite singer of spanish music.... and to finally see him live was almost surreal. So he opened w/ the same song as on HBO, his format was pretty uniform, as compared to the Madison Sq. Garden show that I watched several times on HBO. He sang most of the same songsThe first song sounded weird, but I guess they fixed it or I adjusted. I couldn't see him very well, and I even remembered my glasses. It was packed there. Some songs he went crazy on. Like NADIE COMO ELLA, CONTRA LA CORRIENTE, I NEED TO KNOW, and more. It was fabulous, i was singing along the whole time. I had a dead beat crowd sitting near me, so they were not enthusiastic at all, but I was screaming so much! He is sooooo talented! What i also liked was that he had the same band w/ him that he did at the other concerts and at the Grammys. Jimmy BOsch, those weird dancers and more. he went soooo crazy, Marc, and cleared up his little hospital thing. he said "It was really nothing, people acted like I died 7 times, but I just had to take medicine to keep my voice up for the tour and so on, and I had a strange reaction, and the safest thing was to go to the hospital to make sure I was all right. THey just told me to spend teh night. I AM FINE!"
he is sooooooooooooooooo talented and sweet. I like him for what he is worth. I am so glad I got to see him. I have sooooooo much to say, oh well. I hope he comes back again. marc is really great. The majoirty of the audience was hispanic, with african-americans and whites equaling out.
Delrica
Hi all...okay here goes. (This is gonna take a minute...so sit back and chill...LOL)
 03/21/00 "Happy Marc Anthony Day!!!"
Nise and I began the day with going out to get "The Gift" at 10 something in the morning. After Operation - Marc's Gift was completed, we just hung out for most of the day awaiting our meeting with RIA24, her neice Katie, MarcsGirl and her friend Joe.
We met up with them around 5 at TGIFriday's on George Washington University's Campus (for those who live in DC...just thought you wanted to know where we were). Let me tell you! The day was too fun. Marcsgirl is a trip on the board and in person. She kept all of us laughing so hard, I was about to fall out on the floor. RIA24 and Katie were also very funny and sooooo sweet. They all were! While we were there, Marcsgirl "tagged" a Grey Poupon Bottle with the words "Marc Anthony's Gang". After we all got some food and drinks we all piled into my little car and headed to Constitution Hall.
Once there, we proceeded to the D St Side Door to deliver the gift for Marc. The security lady was nice enough to get the guy in the one of the laminated passes who was walking by to give the packages to them. So after Operation - Marc's Gift was completed...we went around to the front of the hall to stand in line with the rest of the fans. I don't know the other ladies (and gent) felt, but I was bubbling over with excitement. And it made me feel sooo good to see such a nice mix of ethnicities within the crowd.
Okay...anyway...once inside, we ran into Johnny who was standing with Bigram (did I spell that right?) and a third guy...who after he went on I realized...it was Joey Vega. He thanked us for the gifts and told us about Marc reading the boards (like almost every night he reads...and reads...and reads...). Anyway, he said that they really liked the gifts and that they were the first gifts of the day (boy do we feel special now!) So after talking to the J-man for a hot minute, we went sat our butts down and got ready to enjoy the show.
When me and Nise went to our seats, we ran into a couple who was there celebrating their 10 year anniversary which is tomorrow (HAPPY ANNIVERSAY JUAN AND KIM CASTRO!!!). They were really nice. they met at Meritime Institute in a Government Class and had a 9-month long, long distance love affair (he lived in Alexandria, she lived in Baltimore), then got married, and they have been married ever since. We tried to get a note back to Marc to ask him to wish them a happy anniversary, because they really wanted to share that with him.
Anyway, onto the concert! ( I know you all are like...finally!)
Joey Vega...only one word...FUN-NY! Lawd chile...I was laughing so hard I thought I was going to pass out. The main thing I enjoyed about his routine was that there was hardly any language (if any)...which just proves to other comics out there that you don't have to curse every other word to be funny.
A few minutes after Joey got off the stage, The band came out and started playing the intro to the concert...and since I'm sure you already know how much the bomb the concert was...I'm just going to list the songs he did (in order):
 1. Y Hubo Alguien (after which he commented on the whole hospitilization thing)
 2. Contra La Corriente (Awesome Drum Solo -- didn't catch drummer's names...but they rocked)
 3. You sang to me (New version, but superfantabulous. He also talked between these...and this particular time ... he did the Scooby Talking thing...it was funny?)
 4. When I Dream at Night (No words...just beautiful)
 5. Hasta Ayer (Almost all of the Hall stood for this one. His first gift of flowers was given during this song, followed by a single rose...the guy that was playing the guitar solo ROCKED!!!! I mean he had gotten down on his knees playing that guitar...it was AWESOME)
 6. Si Te Vas (During which he ran to both sides of the stage greeting fans...and that was when he first kissed Dayanara (did I spell that right?)
After this song, he began talking about kissing a really pretty girl over on the side of the stage, and then wished Dayanara a happy 1 yr anniversary (woo woo woo!)...after which the crowd chanted "beso beso beso" so...of course...he kissed her again! He then dedicated his next song to her which was...
 7. Nadie Como Ella (at one point during the song he dropped to his knees like Wayne and Garth in Wayne's World and bowed in her direction...it was so cute ?)
 8. Don't let me leave (Erin McKay? McCain? gave a awesome guitar solo...he was jammin!!!)
 9. Hasta Que Te Conoci (there was this beautiful piano/keyboard intro...i was about to cry...it was so moving!)
 10. Da La Vuelta (This is like my personal favorite song...even though from what everyone says...this is like the worst way someone can tell you to get out. I feel like "Hey...you can kick me out...as long as you sing this song..." LOL)
 11. That's Okay (needless to say...the bomb)
Then he left...for about 2 minutes...came back and did (as if you already don't know...)
 12. I Need To Know (Which is like...my way of thinking about life...I ALWAYS need to know...something LOL)
The whole night was so wonderful. I mean the beautiful mix of nationalities all convening in one place to celebrate such a wonderful musician. I can honestly...this was the best concert I have ever been too. And the bonus...getting to hang out with cool folks like mi amiga Nise, mis nuevas amigas (did I say that right?) Marcsgirl and RIA24 (and let's not forget Katie and Joe). Man I'm soo tired...but you better believe...I will have this sappy behind grin on my face that I've had since yesterday...for a good while.
p.s. Thank you sooo much Johnny for taking the time out to talk to us. We really do appreciate it!
