PRESENTING VIC COLAIANNI


Today we have the privilege of hearing Mr. Vic Colaianni address the subject of "Drum and
Bugle Corps Involvement with Local Music Education Programs".

Vic Colaianni received his Bachelor of Music Education degree from Ohio State University
(percussion/major instrument; brass (trombone) / minor instrument) and his Masters in Music
Composition and Theory from Oberlin College in Cleveland, Ohio.

His marching experience took place between 1977 - 1986 with the Bluecoats Drum and Bugle
Corps of Canton, Ohio.  Colaianni went on to instruct at the Bluecoats, teaching percussion in
1987.  He served between 1986 - 1998 as Percussion Caption Head for Lexington High School
Marching Band in Lexington, Ohio.  From 1990 to 1992 he judged within the Central States
Judging Association.

Vic is Director of Choral Music at Manchester Trinity Chapel in Akron, Ohio and a Staff writer
for Drum Corps World of Madison, Wisconsin.  He works as a full-time bank auditing manager
in Cleveland, OH and as a Part-time Associate Professor of Music at the University of Akron in
Akron, OH.
