We will have the fortune today of being addressed by Mr. Mark V. Herzing on the topic
of "Drum Corps Economics: Risk and Opportunity in the Coming Decade."
Mr. Herzing received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy and Public Policy at
Lawrence University in 1984, and his Master of Public Policy at the John F. Kennedy School of
Government at Harvard University in 1987. His experience in the marching arts includes the
1983 Disneyland All American College Marching Band, the 1984 Olympic All American
College Marching Band, and instruction of brass for the Toros Drum and Bugle Corps of
Appleton, Wisconsin in 1985. He presently serves as Manager of Technology Management
Consulting Services at The Futron Corporation, in Bethesda, Maryland, and resides in Virginia.
