DJ Mea

Here is a nice picture of a very attractive, DJ Mea! I personnaly think she looks like Jennifer Ellison from Brookside, but what does that matter!

This mistress of illusion has been crafting her talents as a singer, songwriter and
DJ since she was a teeneger growing up in Missouri. A trained, avid dancer, Mea,
once choreographed routines for the Kansas City Cheifettes. These days, she
spends much of her time travelling around the world for lots of gigs and even more
behind the microphone belting out songs that she has more than likely writen. She
is often referred to by friends as "the Millennium Madonna" - which suits her fine,
she says without delay "is the sole reason I became interested in music." With her
talent and stunning good looks, and energy, she is the next big thing.
For Mea, the quest for notoriety begins with a triumphant recolation to Chicago. After attending a rave in the City, Mea sold out of her partnership in a clothing store, and moved to Chi-Town where she would immediately establish herself in the club scene. Hosting at such clubs as Shelter and Crobar, Mea proved she could contend with the competitive host circuit and in the meantime became familiar with all the movers and shakers in the industry. One such person was Bobby Fresh, owner of ThousandWords magazine for whom Mea worked as a managerial assistant during the day often after playing hostess in the clubs at night. With ThousandWords, Mea established an identity with the underground world, and eventually made contact with DJ Mixin' Mearc who brought her into the SHR Group.
Once there, Mea spent many hours with the label's
producers learning techniques (which is very lucky to do)
behind the decks and mixer and lending her vocals and
lyrics to songs on the UC Music, Afterhours, Dialogue, and
Sunrise labels. Her perseverance with the company would
culminate with her union with the Ministers of Sound
production team of
Spero Pagos and Ron Carroll. Working
with the duo, Mea's talents for DJ-ing, singing and song
-writing blossomed. Since this time, Mea has grown from
those labels and has completed projects for the Soundmen
on Wax, Colossal, and Sony labels. On July 11 2000, she
released her first globally distributed mixed CD compilation
with her own vocals layered in the mixes to add her own
unique sound and style. The CD was called "
Shaken,
Not Stirred," released on the Afterhours label. Mea has also
taken on productions for her 2nd CD called "
Welcome To My
House
," a tribute to her Summer Tour with The Funky Tekno
Tribe.

When not in the studio, she busies herself through her
hectic travel schedule. Every weekend, bookings across
the USA keep her moving, flying and motivating people to
dance, unite and share in the joy of house music. From
Houston to Minneapolis, Atlanta to San Francisco, promoters as for Mea by name and keep her coming back to energize and excite their crowds. As her name catches wind, more worldwide excursions are in store, especially since her talents have gotten her to London, Frankfort, Edinbburgh, Glasgow, Ibiza and Venezuela so far. Consistency in her philosophy is the main priority for Mea. Whether she is in the Windy City, at notorious hotspots like Zentra, Glow, Mission, Dragon Room, Circus or Fifth Floor, rocking the crowds in the way that only she can; layering her fantastic vocals over beats and trakcs, or whether she takes her message global, Mea always believes in the power of music and the ability it has to change live. She is her own best example. After living in the rural Midwest and leaving behind everything to make a name for herselft all over the world, she supplies credence to her own mottoes: "If you do something you love, you can do it forever" and "You get back what you put in", which is why she gives it everything she has each time she plays. To that point, DJ Mea was named the only woman on the Funky Tekno Tribe (SF) Tour this year placing her in the company of DJ phenoms,
Donald Glaude, DJ Sneak, DJ Dan, DJ Rap* amongst others. As the saying goes, "you've come a long way baby" and in Mea's case, never truer words have been spoken.
