| Bars In My Area Home ________________________________________________________________________________ Reading isn't the biggest of towns, but it is Berkshire's county town, so that means it's the biggest in Berkshire. In the main town of Reading there is an unlimited amount of pubs and bars to choose from to get totally wasted in! Including: Bar Oz Three Guinees Back of Beyond Casa Brannigan's Bar Med The Forum (formally >> The Fez & Firkin) Bar Reza / Junglers (Comedy club day, lively bar at night) Yates's The Monk's Retreat WalkAbout Ice Bar (formally >> The Square) The Preverbial The Litten Tree and more.... And there is a strip club called The Honey Pot in the centre of town. There isn't many clubs in Reading. Level 1 has closed down, Utopia is for nappy nights and isn't good at all, BUT, there is supposed to be a Ministry Of Sound coming to where the old C&A used to be. So it will be fairly big with 2 levels. I just hope it does happen, as it will make Reading much better at night! The best club to go to in town is The Matrix, it mainly caters for the garage or hip-hop person, but can vary on special nights. Such acts as DJ Luck & MC Neat and the Artful Dodger have played there. But in 2002 you may have heard of a shooting there, where 2 people were shot, and 1 was badly injured, with a shot to the head. This was on the night of The Heartless Crew playing. It was shut for a few months, but it is supposidly still operating. There is a club called The Mill which is outside of Reading, and it is quite small, but I just thought I would mention it as I used to go there when I was younger. A couple of acts have played there, like Genius Cru. That's about it really. There isn't really any clubs to mention, and it's mainly bars and dolled up pubs. It is hard to find a good night in Reading, so I have decided to go to London every month, as it has many clubs (Fabric, Pacha, Ministry of sound...) and good acts playing there aswell. |
