Vestax PCV-275 [30.06.2002] Back ________________________________________________________________________________ This mixer is the newer version of the ever so popular PMC-270 which has been reborn with a PCV cross fader, all of the old PMC series have been reborn as PCV mixers. The PCV has been crossed 2,000,000 times without audible loss of sound quality, and most mixers crash after 100,000 passes! >> 3 band isolated kill switch for each frequency range >> Effects input >> Cue meter >> 3 phono and 6 line input >> Easy to replace faders and cross fader (if it does decide to bug out!) >> Optional rotary input for New York style mixing >> Line 4 input connecter socket is located on the top panel for easy connecting of DAT/MP3/MD/CD while mixing >> 2 microphone inputs on the top panel >> 16dB +/- output I have had this mixer since March 2002, and it has done me proud. Before this mixer, I had a simple 2 channel scratch style mixer with basic gains, but as soon as I progressed onto the PCV-275 I could do so much more effects and mixing skills. It is strange how you can learn new techniques on a new mixer, and for me it is a lot bigger to, its about 10" wide by 14" ish deep. There are things on this mixer for different DJ's, the kill switches are aimed more at the turntablist, and the microphone inputs for producers or MC's. As a trance DJ I prefer a smoother cut to the gains when mixing, and a curve control and a wider cross fader would be nice. It is a very smooth mixer - the cross fader is very nice, light and short, the channel faders and a little tight, but they get broken in after a while. Vestax are very famous for making well made products, and this is no exception. It is a little pricy, but then again you get what you pay for and this is worth it. (£339 at Sapphires) Overall it is well built and very durable. It has many features and is the next best thing to having a studio mixer in your room. Lots of inputs as well for recording and samplers. So it can cater for near enough any type of DJ, and it has a lot to offer, and not a lot of competition in its series! |
