| Idiots guide to DJ-ing! Home ________________________________________________________________________________ Here I have made a simple drawing of how your DJ setup should be connected. This is a good way to check that it is all connect probally, so you can get the best out of your DJ gear. One thing to remember is to make sure the volume on you Amp or Stereo's is up high! past half way. 1) Make sure you have: 2 turntables, 1 mixer, 2 carts & stylus, 2 slipmats, 2 speakers and a receiver (amp or stereo) all the leads shown below, headphones, and some records - obviously! 2) Plug (red in picture) in your receiver, 2 turntables and mixer into sockets, make sure your speakers (orange in picture) are connected. 3) Make sure your headphones (brown in picture) are plugged in the correct socket. 4) Make sure your carts, stylus and slipmats are on your turntables. 5) Take the lead from turntable 1 (dark blue in picture) and plug into the Phono socket in Channel 1 at the back of your mixer. Take the lead from turntable 2 (dark blue in picture) and plug into the Phono socket in Channel 2 at the back of your mixer. 6) Plug the 2 phono to 2 phono lead (green in picture) from Master at the back of the mixer to the Aux or Phono in your receiver. 7) Take the wire from turntable 1 (purple in picture) and put it on the middle bolt, and take the same wire from turntable 2 (purple in picture) and place it next to the other one, and tighten the bolt till it is secure. 8) Now turn your receiver on, and put the volume up past half way, turn your mixer on and make sure the volumes are up on it, and turn you 2 turntables on. Put a record on each turntable, slide the cross fader (at the bottom of your mixer in the middle) all the way to the left - press Play and turntable 1, and put the tonearm across onto the record and you should here it. If not, make sure your receiver is on Aux or Phono power, and make sure the volumes are up. If nothing else work, drop us an e-mail, and I'll help you out. |
