United States: Washington D.C.(Jan/97)

    Lincoln Memorial

I went to Washington D.C. for Comnet (a computer communication trade show) in the 96-97 winter. Spent the weekend before the shoe touring the capital of the richer country in the world.

Washington felt a nice city to live. It is a big city, but it has interesting cultural spaces and nightlife. The restaurants are good, public transportation works.

The "mall" concentrates most of the interesting places to the visitor. Some of the best museums in the world are there. I visited the excellent Aerospace Museum (you can see the Apollo 11 capsule and moon landers there) the museums in the Mall (very nice), the Smithsonian, the Natural History Museum.

Around the same area, you can visit the Lincoln Memorial, White House, Capitol, the National Monument, etc.

It was cold, but there was no snow.
