Although Marc Menard (Boyd) always had a creative side lurking within him, it wasn't necessarily easy for him to express it. "I had strict parents that put on a lot of pressure for academics," the actor explains. "They didn't really encourage the arts that much."

But when his mother and father advised that he take Spanish instead of art in high school, Menard realized that he was going to have to take matters into his own hands. Although he had already signed up for Spanish, he decided to play switcheroo with his classes.

"On the last day [of registration] I went on my own and took art. I didn't tell my parents for months -- until I got my report card!" he confesses with a laugh.

"That was my first rebellious experience."
