Q. Why did you choose a monza as a hobby car?
A. Here's a long answer I'll try to be as brief as possible on.

1.st I inherited a GM hbody as a first car.
I remember the day it was brought home, back in late 1980.
I was 8 years old and immediately assumed ownership of the car as my car when it was time for me to drive. (I liked cars since I was a toddler)

That was reinforced when on a family trip in the car, I believe it was
in Niagara Falls Canada, We drove past a silver Sunbird Formula model. I knew all the special wings and do dads could be added to ours, so my plan was to make the car a Formula as soon as I could get my hands on it.

Some other things that helped were having some magazine articles about V8 sunbirds.

Finally, when I was old enough and looking for some repair pieces in the junk yard, I found that there were chevy monza's and pontiac sunbirds in there ripe with parts including parts to swap in a V8.

Soon thereafter, with my summer job money I had another sunbird, then a monza, then another, and another.

Come to find out, these cars made GREAT transportation, if you understood them and new how to treat them.

You get dependability, maneuverability, sporty looks from a timeless design, speed, and utility with the large hatchback and definite uniqueness.

The only other things you could ask in my book were durability and all wheel drive.
But that would be in a perfect world and they would cost as much as porsches.

So I guess thats why H body's are my hobby vehicle.

Q. I want a monza, where can I find one?
A. Follow the message board links on this site to the classifieds section or just ask around there.
Also Craigslist.com, Ebay, Google search,
Tradderonline.co,
& check local ads.
Local ad's are best if you have to transport the car.
There are ways to get them shipped across town or across town. check your local listings for auto transport services
-----------------------------------------------------------
Q. How many miles have you driven in monza's?

Not to sure, but I've driven them for roughly 15  years as daily transportation so I'd say the total likely approaches 400,000 miles.

Q. Why did you make this site?

A. Because I figure there are many other owners like me out there who enjoy these cars, but know of no one else locally.

If one should decide to search the web, I wanted to make a catch page that would pull enthusiasts in from search engines and help them network with other owners.

And to let people know that they are not alone. Others do indeed share your passion! all sorts of people from all sorts of places. search out this site and you'll see.

Also a place to eliminate all the hunting for H body parts...providing links to all outlets for new replacement parts and used parts classifieds

Q. Can you sum up in a nutshell the history of the 1975-1980 monza?
I tried, but it took up another whole page so
Q. Are there chevy Monza's this site is not about?

A. Yes!!
This site is NOT about the 1960's Corvair.
This excelent chevy had model that was called the monza.
Even Monza Spyder.

Also this site is also NOT about a small mexican made chevy from the late '90s & sold in South America, called the Chevy Monza. This one's not even sold in america.
