Irving, John J.
Born in Susquehaan, Pa., in 1864, son of Nicholas, a native of Ireland and Hannah (Murphy) Irving , of Piedmont, NY. He received his education in the public schools of Oakland and Susquehanna, attended Bryant College where he learned the trade of boiler maker and became foreman in shops around Oil City, Pa. He thus became supertindent of a factory in Roanoke, Va. which hired 500 hands. He later took interest in a different profession and commenced the study of law with the firm of Scoville & Dewitt and was admitted to the bar May 1889. He was elected as supervisor of the tenth ward and trustee of the Public Library. He was a member of the Red Men, National Geographic Soxciety, Knights of Columbus, Broome County Bar Association and American-Irish Historical Society. He married Sept. 15, 1903, Ida C. (Hickey) Howell and had daughter, Emily S. born Oct. 19, 1909.

Ives, Leon D.
Born in Union, Feb. 22, 1874, son of W.D. and Sarah (Hanyon) Ives, natives of Otsego County. He was educated in Union and he secured employment with D.D. Brown, learning the trade of manufacturing of upholstery and furniture. He went to Allentown, Pa. as foreman of a gold leaf manufacturing furntiure company, later to came to Binghamton and established his own feed business. He went to Scranton, Pa. for a time, but returned to Binghamton, formed a partnership with Milton Lyons known as Lyons & Ives., manufacturers of furniture. He married in 1899 in Pa., Lulu Woolheater of Union and had two children, Herbert D. and Charles Vernon.

Jackson, Charles Herbert
Born in Brooklyn, NY., Apr. 29, 1873, son of Herbert G.F. and Amelia J. Jackson. He attended public schools in Brooklyn and entered the employ of American Union Life Insurance Company. In 1900 he came to Binghamton with Security Mutual Insurance Company and rose to become superintendent of agencies with over 100 offices in 20 states under his power. He was director of the Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Masons, Elks, Kiwanis, Sportsmen's Club, Binghamton Country Club and Binghamton Club. He married in Brooklyn Nov. 14, 1894, Emma Katherine Rhinehart, daughter of Clark D. and Mary (Jones) Rhinehart. They had two children, Clark R. and Herbert Glynn.

Jackson, Eugene F.
Born in Titusvile, Pa. May 8, 1874, son of Isaac George and Mary (Hasbrouk) Jackson. He was educated in the public schools of Bradford, Pa. and attended State College. He entered the business life as a clerk with American Wood Rim Company. He located in Binghamton and became associated with the firm Brown-Kent- Jackson Lumber Company of which he became president and treasurer. He was a member of the Masons, Shriners, Chanmber of Commerce, Kiwanis, the Boingahmton Country Club and Binghamton Club. He married May R. Rogers of Bradford , Pa. in 1897 and had one daughter, Elizabeth.

Jenkins, Fredic William
Born in Rochester, Stafford County, NH, May 12, 1859, son of Jeremiah D. and Melissa Abbie (French) Jenkins. He was educated near his home and attended Austin Academy . He began the study of law in the offices Joshua G. Hall and continued his post graduate work at Columbian University in Washington, D.C. He was admitted to the bar in New Hampshire in 1886, came to Binghamton and practiced law. He was admitted to the Supreme Court of New York, the United States District Court and to the United States Supreme Court. He was senior member of the firm, Jenkins, Deyo & Hitchcock. He was a director of the First National Bank and a member of the American Bar Association, New York State Bar Association and the Binghamton Club. He married Aug. 5, 1884, Minnie L. Boalt, daughter of Charles A. and Phoebe Boalt. They had children, M. Ethel born July 4, 1887 who married Bedford Leighton and Ruth born Oct. 7, 1895 who married James Vinton Stowell.

Jenks, Edmund B.
Born in Triangle, Mar. 16, 1863, son of Sidney H.and Samantha (Horton) Jenks. He attended public schools, entered Cumberland University and was admitted to the bar in the state of Tennessee, Jan. 1896. He then came to Binghamton, was admitted to the New York Bar Association and practiced law in Whitney Point. He married, Aug. 5, 1896, Mary Katherine Johnson, daughter of Wheeler and Emily (Atwater) Johnson.

Jewell, Raymond W.
Born in Port Dickinson, Mar. 1, 1886, son of Frank W. and Lillian M. (Beckwith) Jewell. He was a graduate of Binghamton High School and graduated from Syracuse University with a Bachelor of Architect degree. He was asscoiated with W.E. Austin in New York City before coming to Binghamton as superintendent for Tiffany & Conrad Construction Company, architectures, and designed buildings such as, Port Dickinson School, Endwell Grade School, Men's Dormitory at the Broome County Farm and many commercial and industrial buildings. He was a member of the American Society of Architects, Binghamton Chamber of Commerce, Masons, Shriners, Kiwani's Club, American Legion and Sportsmen's Club.

Joggerst, Benjamin L.
Born in Binghamton, Apr. 18, 1887, son of Bernard and Elizabeth ( Brandt) Joggerst. He received his education in the public schools, entered the Bacon Printing Office where he mastered the trade and remained for some time. He purchased the business and went into the field of commercial printing. He was a member of Masons and Rotary Club.He married in 1911, Margaret R. Ryan and had two children, Dorothy M. born Nov. 12, 1915 and Robert B. born Oct. 5, 1916.

Johnson, Amos M.
Born in Whitney Point, Apr. 30, 1861, son of Richard and Naomi (Roberts) Johnson. After completing school in Whitney point, he assisted his father on the farm for four years , then deceided to go in to the merchantile business. He held several positions in the business in the next few years, then established his own general store in Marathon, NY for next few years. He sold out and was traveling salesman for David Wallace of Cortland , manufacturers of wallpaper. He transferred to another wallpaper business, S.A. Maxwell & Company of New York City and later entered the employ of Wallace Wallpaper Company of Cortland where he remained many years. He was a director of the First National Bank of Whitney Point, a member of the Masons and Shriners. He married in Whitney Point, June 29, 1886, Nellie Eggleston, daughter of Charles and Amy (Manning) Eggelston. They had children, Gladys born Apr. 22, 1887 and Richard born Oct. 17, 1891 who engeged in the wallpaper business in Detroit, Mich.

Johnson, Bruce
Born in Binghamton, Apr. 30, 1896, son of James W. and Amelia (Day) Johnson. He prepared for college at the New York Military School and entered Cornell University. He became prominent in the athletic field, winning the lightweight championship in boxing.. He enlisted in the United States Army and after his return, he received a degree from Cornell in mehcanical engineering. He became advertising manager of the Binghamton Morning Sun. He married Ruth Hains, of Newton, Mass.

Johnson, George F.
Born in Milford, Mass. Oct. 15, 1857, son of Francis A. and Sarah Jane (Aldrich) Johnson. Concerning his education he writes "I went to school quite officially and I left school at the age of 13, quite officially, and went to work. From there I proceeded to gain an education in the free university of kicks and cuffs, which is not such a bad sort of school". His business career began in the treeing room of a shoe factory in Plymouth, Mass., his duties taking him into different departments. He went into business with Henry B. Endicott becoming Endicott-Johnson Corp.of Johnson City, NY.

Johnson, David M.
Born in Norwich, Conn., Sept. 19, 1860, son of Joseph and Jean (McCowan) Johnson, natives of Scotland. He received his education in the public schools of Norwich and obtained employment in the dry goods business. He came to Bingahton and was associated with Fowler, Dick & Walker, then removed to Easton, Pa. and engaged in the dry business with his brother. He returned to Binghamton and associated with Sisson Brothers & Welden for a period of nine years. He then established himself with the Binghamton Bradstreet Agency a position he continued to hold, an agency well known the world over for it;s listing and rating of merchants, manufacaataurers and bankers. He was a member of the Masons, Shriners, Binghamton Chamber of Commerce and Rotary Club. He married Mar. 27, 1884, Margaret Simpson, daughter of Edward Simpson of Conklin.

Johnson, Harry Leonard
Born in Hopkington, Mass., Aug. 30, 1873, son of Francis Alonzo and Sarah Jane (Aldrich) Johnson He attended school in Plymouth, Mass. and worked as a clerk in the Plymouth post office. His brothers, George F. and C. Fred located to Lestershire (Johnson City) , desiring to join his brothers he left Plymouth at age 22 accompanied by his wife to enter the employ of Endicott-Johnson Corp. He married in Plymouth Sept. 4, 1894, Sophie Baumagartner of Swiss ancestry. They had children, Aldeine who married George L. Brett, Helen and Jane who died young, Hermoine who married Donald Collingwood, Harry L.,Jr. and Ruth.

Johnson, James W.
Born in New York City, Jan. 30, 1865, son of James Edwin and Isabel (Evans) Johnson. He received his education in public schools and attended Columbia University Prepatory School. He became one of the propieters of Bacheller & Johnson Newspaper Syndicate and was identified with the manangement of that concern. He married June 20, 1894, Amelia Day, daughter of James Raymond , native of Hartford, Conn and a member of the New York Stock Exchange, and Amelia S. (Mastin) Day of New York City. They had children, Helen who married Paul Wagstaff, Ruth who married Charles Ambrose Nicholson and Bruce.

Johnson, Joseph George
Born in Hoboken, New Jersey, Apr. 30, 1882, son of Thoams and Marion (Murphy) Johnson. After completing school, he was variously employed , a greater portion of the time spent coming to Endicott . He was connected with the Farmer's National Bank of Endicott. He married in Illinois, Apr. 8, 1911, Lorrie D. Miller, daughter of Watson Miller of Green Bay, Wisconsin.

Johnson, Rev. Oscar E.
Born in Milford, Mass., Oct. 27, 1852, son of Francis and Sarah A. Johnson. He received his education in schools of Mass., prepared for the ministry at Berkley Divinity School and was assigned to a pastotate, which was succeeded in turn by other appointments during his career. He married 1875 in Hopkinton, Mass., Marie Graham , daughter of Hugh and Catherine B.( Moore) Graham and had children, Alma J., William H., Harold F., Addie M. and Oscar E.
Johnston, James G.
Born in Galashiels, Scotland, Dec. 20, 1887, son of William and Margaret ( Graham) Johnston. He received his education in the schools of Scotland and learned the trade of machinist and engineer. He came to this country in 1907 and settled in the town of Amsbury, Mass. He associated himself with the Tabulating Machine Company of New York City, was transferred to Endicott and made foreman of the tooling department. He had a military record with the Brittish Volunteer Service. He married in 1912, Wealthea R. Tucker, a descendent of John and Priscilla Alden of the Mayflower.

Jones, Archie Bennett
Born in Afton, NY, Dec. 19, 1886, son of Charles Bennett and Martha Virginia (Cook) Jones. He attended Afton High School and took a course Laurel Hill Academy in Susquehanna, Pa.. His first business experience was in the employ of Susquehanna Hardware Manufacturing Company, then as a clek for the Erie Railroad. Thereafter coming to Binghamton in the employ of John L. Morgan Company, a wholesale dry goods firm. He was appointed city clerk of Binghamton, later became associated with Walter L. Johnson of Endicott and was appointed secretary of the Board of Education. He was a member of the Masons, Shriners and Red Men. He married in Binghamton, June 14, 1911, Carrtie Harrison Platner, daughter ofJoseph L. and Helen M. (Hotaling) and had one son, Kendall Ralph born Oct. 7, 1914.

Jones, David W.
Born in St. Louis, Mo. July 16, 1893, son of Rev. William and Della A. (Felter) Jones. He received his early education in the schools of Worcester, NY and Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York. He became identified with the firm of Art Metal Construction Company and later enlisted in the US Navy where he was assigned to duty in New York City. After his discharge from the service, he became associated with T.I.Lacey & Son in Binghamton for a short time, then became general manager of the Johnson City Brick Company in Missouri.He married in 1917, Emmie J. Berber of New York City and had children, David born Oct. 30, 1918, George Steven born July 5, 1920 and Marjorie Rose Ann born Mar. 13, 1922.

Jones, Ivan R.
Born in Steuben County, NY, Apr. 21, 1890, son of Andrew and Alwilda (Rowley) Jones. He completed his education, went in association with his father and learned the building trade. After locating in Endicott, he engaged in business on his own snd was met with sucess from the very beginning. He was a member of the Chamber of Commerce and Rotary Club. He married May 11, 1910 in Binghamton, Edna W. Dimmock born in Allentown, New Jersey, daughter of Edwin and Alice (Aldrich) Dimmock. They had children, Aubrey born Oct. 23, 1914 and Thelma born Jan. 3, 1921.

June, Edward H.
Born in Orange County, NY, Apr. 15, 1868, son of Theodore and Frances (Ackerman) June. He acquired his education in the public schools of Orange County and started his career in the milk business. He came to Binghamton , became owner operator of a service station and dealer in automobiles, the June Auto Company. He married in 1888, Addie D. Birdsall of Orange County.

Kaley, Lester J.
Born in Owego, NY, Feb. 11, 1887, son of John Kaley. He graduated from Binghamton High School and attended Syracuse University, graduating with a Bachelor of Architecture degree. Imediately following, he located in New York City with Oswald C. Hering and Douglas Fitch, architects who are masters of their profession. After seven years in this employ, he came to Binghamton and successfully engaged in the professional work. In 1918, he was appointed superintendent of buildings for the City of Binghamton. He was a member of the New York State Architects Association, American Institute of Archirects and Binghamton Society of Architects. He married Margaret Darrow of Syracuse and had children, Roberts V. born Mar. 19, 1913 and Betsey Jane born Nov. 17, 1920.

Kall, Isador
Born in Russian poland, in May 1874, attending school in his native country, he then came to Binghamton when a young boy and completed his education here. He learned the trade of cigar making and succeeded in establishing himself as a cigar manufacturer, the largest in the area employing over one hundred men.He married in 1910, Mary Gerch of New York City.

Kane, Edward J.
Born in Steuben County, NY, Apr. 15, 1897, son of Thoams and Katherine (Doughterty) Kane. He had his early education in the schools of Kentucky and graduated from high school in Scranton, Pa. He took a special course at International Correspondence School. The automobile industry interested him and for ten years he was associated with the Hupmobile factory and industry. During the world war, he was a member of the 13th Reg. , National Guard of Penna. He formed a partnership with Mr. Nopper known as Nopper & Kane, dealers in automobiles. They were extremely sucessfull and the scope of their operations covered four counties. He was a member of the Automobile Association and St. Patrick's Church.

Kann, Ulysses Silver
Born in Neuchatel, Swtizerland, Feb. 28, 1873 , received his education ,classical, professional, scientific, recieving his degrees from Geneva Univserity, and the degree of Doctor of Medicine from the University of Paris, France. He came to Binghamton in 1914 and where he established a sucessfull practice as a surgeon and served on the staff of City Hospital. He was the first physican to use radium in the treatment of disease and was an expert on x-ray and radium. He gave up his practice and enlisted in United State Army when the world war against Germany broke out. He was a Major of the Medical Corp. of the United States Army. He was a member of the American and New York State Medical Associations, Radiological Society of North America, a member of the Mason and Rotary Club.

Kattell, Thomas Blaine
Born in Binghamton, Sept. 9, 1875, son of Thaddeus A. and Maria Kattell. He received a practical training in the fundamentals of education and was variuosly employed as a young man before determing his profession to be that in law. He secured a position in the office of George B. Lyon and later became associated with Lyon, Painter & Hinman. He was admitted to the bar Mar. 7, 1899. He continued with the firm as it became Hinman, Howard & Kattell, was admitted to the United States District Court in 1908 and the Supreme Court in 1920. He was a member of the Masons, the Red Men, Binghamton Club and Binghamton Country Club. He married in Binghamton, Oct. 29, 1902, Jane Taber, daughter of William and Edna E. Taber.

Keach, Scott Walter
Born in Sidney, NY, Nov. 25, 1885, son of Alfonso Ernest and Carrie Evaline (Rogers) Keach. He attended the public schools of Sidney and engaged in a mechanical line of work As the automobile repair business became more firmly established, he was one of the pioneers, opening a garage in Harpersville. The sucess of his aventure assured, he added the painting of cars and still later, upholstery of cars. He married Grace R. Van Valkenburg, daughter of Irving and Phoebe Van Valkenburg.

Keesler, Carl
Born Damascas, Pa., Oct. 14, 1895, son of Eli and Margaret (Whittmore) Keesler. He received his education there and has followed farming in all branches. He enters any undertaking wholeheartedly into affairs, business and social. He married in Binghamton, Rose Gaston, daughter of William and Carrie Gaston. They had one daughter, Margaret born May 3m 1915.

Kelday, Thomas B.
Born in Scotland, Mar. 24, 1874, son of Hugh and Sarah (Thompson) Kelday, natives of Scotland. He attended public schools of Scotland and served a four year apprenticeshipp in the trade of ironmonger. He came to Quebec, Canada, then Buffalo, NY and Chicago, Ill, where he was employed at International Harvester. He came to Endicott and was employed at Endicott Forging Manufacturing Company. He was a menber of the Chamber of Commerce, Masons and Shriners. He married in 1907, Lola M. Robinson of Canada and had no children.

Kelley, Fred C.
Born in Buffalo, NY, Aug. 30, 1871, son of Henry S. and Margaret (Fossig) Kelley. He began his education in Buffalo public schools and completed it at the University of Buffalo, where he took up the study of medicine and graduated as a licensed pharmacist and chemist. He was in the employ of World's Dispensary Medical Association in Buffalo before coming to Binghamton and entering a partnership with his brother S.J.Kelley. He was a member of the Masons, Shriners, Rotary Club, Red Men, and Chamber of Commerce. He marreid in 1893, Henrietta O. Hager, a native of Buffalo and had one son, Marvin Fred born in 18894.

Kelley, S. J.
Born in Buffalo, NY, July 10, 1866, son of Henry S., a native of Palmyra, NY, and Margaret (Fossig) Kelley. He received his education in the public schools of Buffalo and was a five year apprentice for Joseph Schenck in the trade of wood engraving. He established his own business as S.J.Kelley Engraving Company in Binghamton on Court Street. He was a member of the Masons, Shriners, the Rotary Club and Chamber of Commerce. He married, Jennie Stack of Buffalo and they had children, Melvin A. born in 1895, J. Emory born 1896, Eunice M. born 1899 and Leroy S. born 1900.

Kelley, Daniel James
Born in Liverpool, Onondaga County, NY, Oct. 3, 1875, son of James M. and Elizabeth (Johnson) Kelly. He graduated from Baldwinsville Academy and became principal of Union School in Warner. He attended Syracuse University , garduating in 1904 and became principal of the high school in Camden, NY. He came to Binghamton in 1912 and took up the duty of superintendent of schools. He was a member of the State Examinations Board, State Teachers Association, director of the Child Welfare Association, head of local Boy Scouts, Shriners, Masons, Chamber of Commerce and Rotary Club. He married at Baldwinsville, NY, July 30, 1906, Maude Goodwin, daughter of Henry and Tirzah Goodwin. They had one daughter, Helen G.

Kelly, Mortimer M.
Born in Owesgo County, NY, Mar. 12, 1871, son of John and Catherine (Kane) Kelly, natives of Co. Clare, Ireland. He recieved his education in the Academy in Pulaski, Oswego County, NY and has been engaged in hotel work throughout his life. His first employment was the Globe Hotel in Syracuse, NY.He later went to the Troy House in Troy, NY and Hotel Empire in New York City. He was pervailed upon by Delaware & Hudson Railroad Company to organize it's dining cars and rebuilding of the Champlain and Fort William Hotels. He went to St. Louis to manage the St. Louis Club, then came to Binghamton as president for the Hotel Bennett. He was a member of the New York Hotel Association, Knights of Columbus, Elks, Binghamton Country Club and Chamber of Commerce. He married in 1900, Marie A. Busby, and had children, Regina J. born 1901 and Mortimer M., Jr.

Kennedy, Edwin W.
Born in Newark, Ohio Apr. 19, 1886, son of Edwin W. and Mary Martha Kemmedy, received his education in the public schools and attended business colege in Columbus, Ohio. He entered the shoe manufacturing business and later came to Endixott as manager of salesmen at Endicott-Johnson. He married in Columbus, 1907, Lenora Page, daughter of Louis Page. They had two sons, Lester P. and Norman H.

Kent, George A.
Born in Monticello, NY, Jan. 7, 1841, son of George and Cornelia (Pelton) Kent. He left school at the age of twelve and assisted his father in their country store and later took up the printers trade.He came to Binghamton in the employ of Harvey Wescott and was in charge of their cigar and tobacco store in Scranton, Pa. He left this employ and enlisted in the Union Army, promoted to Corporal before being wounded and stricken with typhoid fever.After being discharged, he bought a cigar store in Scranton, the George A. Kent Company.He was president of the Citizens Bank and Director of the First National Bank.

Kent, Harry L.
Born in Bradford County, Pa., Dec. 27, 1895, son of Philo A.and Mantie A. (Cochran) Kent, received his education in public schools and brgan his business career in the employ of his fathers firm of Brown & Kent. He was sent by the compny to Binghamton to organize the P.A. Kent Lumber Company which became associated with Pittsburgh Plate Glass Company. He married in 1920, Theresa Hamlin, of Afton, Pa.

Kent, Philo A.
Born in Bradford County, Pa. Feb. 5, 1859, son of Abel and Maryette (Snedeker) Kent, receiving his education in the public schools of Binghamton. His first business experience was in the employ of W.W.Brown of Buffalo, NY and later became associated with Bemis & Ostrander of Bradford, Pa. He entered the lumber business independently as P.A.Kent & Son Lumber. He married in 1891, Mantie A. Cochran of Meadville, Pa. They had children, Ruth A., Hary L., Richard L., Paul C., John S. and Philo A., Jr., the last three dying in infancy.

Killen, Jack
Born in Montgomery, Alabama, Feb. 28, 1866, son of James William and Louise (Shaver) Killen. He grew up in a southern plantation home and attended school in Alabama and Agricutural and Mechanical College at Auburn, Alabama. He enetered the University of Virginia , taking a medical course and becoming M.D. He spent his first year at Bellevue Hospital Medical College and interned at Manhattan Eye and Ear Hospital. In 1894 he located in Binghamton and continued his practice as eye, ear and throat specialist. He was a member of the Broome County Medical Society, a member of American Medical Association, New York State Medical Society, a member of the Masons and Shriners. He married in 1895, Minnie F. Murphy, daughter of Martin and Martha (Conckling) Murphy . Thye had children, Barnes MacFarland born Jan. 21, 1896, Joe Wheeler born May 2, 1898, George Martin born Jan. 23, 1900, H. Louise born June 1, 1903, Peaches born Mar. 10, 1906,

Kilmer, Frank J.
Born Mar. 9, 1894, son of Frank J. and Agnes B. (Burke) Kilmer. He attended Binghamton schools and took a course at Riley Business School. He asscoiated with Endicott-Johnson Corp. as bookkeeper for a time, then was attracted to the Prudential Life Insurance Company as manager. He went into the employ of Mutual Life Insurance Company as district manager. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and Elks. He married in 1916, Elizabeth M. Murphy of Kirkwood and had children, Ellen M. born 1917, Walter born 1919 and Mary L. born 1821.

King, Warren Charles
born in Port Dickinson, Broome County, NY, Dec. 8, 1876, son of Charles Artemas and Helen (Bevier) King. He completed his education in preparaton for an active career by taking a chemical course at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY and found employment at the Queen City Bank in Buffalo, NY. After two years he engaged in the chemical industry as manufacturing chemist and became president of Indepandent Chemical Company of New York and King Chemical Company in New Jersey. He was a member of American Chemical Society, Society for the Advancement of Science, Compressed Gas Manufacturers Assocaition of New York, president of Manufacturers Council of the State of New Jersey, Nassau Club of Princeton, Hmailton Club of New Jersey and Raitan Valley Country Club. He married Oct. 4, 1899 in Atlanta, Georgia, Jessie Calhoun Caldwell, daughter of Joseph B. and Alexine S. (Frossard) Caldwell. They had children, Lieut. Joseph Caldwell, a graduate of West Point, Charles Artemas and Kathryn Virginia.

Kinney, Dudley D.
Born in Warren Center, Pa. Sept. 11, 1875, son of John D. and Amy A. (Choffen) Kinney. He received his education in the schools of Warren Center and worked in an egg and butter store in New York City before returning to Binghamton. He organized the Niles, Kinney & Company wholesale dealers in butter and eggs which was sucessfull and he bought out Niles and it became Kinney Brothers.They had an additional establishment in Union Center consisting of a condensing plant for making condensed milk and cheese . He soon began a plant in the Town of Maine. The business steadily increased and enjoyed the reputation of the county's leading firm. He married Blanche J. Morse of New Milford, Pa. They had no children.

Kinsman, Charles T.
Born in the Province of Quebec, Canada, Aug. 29, 1872, son of Hiram and Julia (Skinner) Kinsman. He received his education in the public schools of Shelburn,Vermont and went to Boston in pursuit of his ambition. He attended Boston Dental College and graduated with a Doctrine of Dentristry degree. In 1905, he located in Philadelphia, but in 1910 came to Binghamton. He was associated with Dr.W.M.Sharp in the dental manufacturing business. He became president of the firm known as WM.Sharp Manufacturing Company. He was a member of the Masons. He married in 1897, Bertha M.Wentworth of Mass. and had children, Marjorie J. and Elmer F.

Knickerbocker, Milton J.
Born in Elmhurst, Pa., Mar. 4, 1873, son of Jay and Eliza M. (Shultz) Knickerbocker. He attended public schools and began to work at an early age. He was employed in several tanneries, beconing interested in tanning of leather. He sought work in those lines, locating in Endicott and was associated with Endicott-Johnson Corp. He was a member of the Masons, Elks, Odd Fellows and Antlers Club. He married Mar. 17, 1896 in Wilkes-Barre, Pa. Edith May McNulty, daughter of William and Mary Ellen (Dimock) McNulty. They had children, Ruth E. born Apr. 12, 1897 married Howard Leighton, Wayne born June 21, 1898, Paul R. born Nov. 19, 1901 and Milton J., Jr. born July 3, 1912.
