Biography

Marc Nelipovich is a native Texan born in Houston Texas 1969.  He currently resides in Austin where he is a musician, artist.

He has a Bachelor of Music Degree for Berklee College of Music.  As for art training and schooling he has none outside of high school.  He draws a lot of inspiration from music and the Outsider, Folk Art and Self Taught genres.  He did attend an art class at a Junior College in California, but dropped out after a couple weeks due to boredom.  He has been drawing off and on throughout his life.  As of early 2001 Marc started creating on a regular basis.

Marc’s art has been exhibited in and around Austin, TX in the last 3 years since he’s been creating his paintings.   He has been fortunate enough to have some of his painting in the collection of some celebrities such as Dusty Hill of ZZ Top and Clifford Antone, and former employees of Oprah Winfrey's Harpo Productions.  Earlier this year he was asked to create several giant pieces, similar to his regular smaller art, to be included in the set of the Texas’ Premiere of “It Ain’t Nothing But the Blues” in Austin at Zachary Scott Theatre which featured Texas blues great Doyle Bramhall.

Currently Marc has been working on some commissions as well as his other musically inspired pieces, not just of blues musicians, but also of jazz, popular and modern musicians such as: Madonna, Frank Zappa, Miles Davis, and Angus Young of AC/DC.  So much American music started with the blues whether we realized it or not.
