4 x 6 Bandsaw

This is a Harborfreight Central Machinery 4 x 6 metal cutting bandsaw.  I don't know how I lived without this saw as long as I have.  This saw is great!  It makes short work of anything you through at it.  Beats the pants off the old hand powered hacksaw.  I did however make a few mods.  I added a chip pan and a motor chip guard to keep chips out of the motor.

Above is a picture of a new deck I cast for my band saw being turned on my 13x25 lathe.  The old deck that came with the saw was flimsy sheet metal.  This cast aluminum deck is a little bigger and much stronger.  Below you can see it complete and installed.  12/3/06
