HOME MADE MITER SAW
I ran accross a cool little saw attachment for a power drill at the flea market and thought it would make the perfect chop saw head.  I then begain designing the rest of the saw around the head.  At this point the design is around 80% complete.  I plan to cast the parts out of aluminum and machine then on my 13x25 lathe.  More to come as the project progresses.

To the bottom left are all but one of the foam cores requied to cast the parts for the compound saw. The sprues have been covered with a thin layer of plaster.

Above is a picture of the base casting being turned on my 13x25 lathe.  And to the left is the assembled saw, not quite complete but getting close.  12/3/06
