HOME MADE MITER SAW

I ran accross a cool little saw attachment for a power drill at the flea market and thought it would make the perfect chop saw head.  I then begain designing the rest of the saw around the head.  At this point the design is around 80% complete.  I plan to cast the parts out of aluminum and machine then on my 13x25 lathe.  More to come as the project progresses. 2/19/06

To the bottom left are all but one of the foam cores requied to cast the parts for the compound saw. The sprues have been covered with a thin layer of plaster. 6/12/06

Above is a picture of the base casting being turned on my 13x25 lathe.  And to the left is the assembled saw, not quite complete but getting close.  12/3/06
