It had been a month since Bobby and Eve had succumbed to each other. Bobby
was a very happy camper and Eve just glowed constantly. Darien teased them
both about letting the cat out of the bag by their behaviour but secretly he
was glad that they had got together. Bobby needed someone steady and
understanding in his life. He was on his way to a meeting that had been
called by The Official. He met Eve at the door and they went in together.

"Ah, Fawkes. So glad you could join us."

Eve and Darien shuffled to their seats and sat down. The Official gestured to
Claire to begin the meeting. Claire stood up and passed round some folders.

"I'll keep this brief, for some time now the goverment has been working on a
way to distill memory RNA into it's purist form. Two weeks ago they
succeeded. The object of this exercise was to be able to inject the RNA into
a normal host. ie, they don't have to have a gland." Claire started to pace
in her excitement. " Imagine the advantages, it could help in murder
investigations, identification, the possibilities are endless."

The Official cleared his throat. " In short gentlemen and ladies, we need a
volunteer."

Bobby put up his hand. "Right here, I'm your guy."

Claire shook her head. "Sorry Bobby, you aren't suitable."

"What? Oh, the paranoia thing?"

"No, that's not an issue, your sex is however. The last test subject was
male, the results weren't good for him. For some reason the pure RNA only
works on females."

The Official spoke again. "Monroe is out of the country, Claire has to
control the experiment, I'm afraid that leaves only one person left with the
proper clearance."

All eyes swung to Eve. She went pale and looked nervously at Claire. Bobby
frowned. He didn't like the sound of this. Eberts passed out some photos. The
Official warmed to his subject.

"This is Suki Richmont, or should I say was. She was a top goverment agent,
ranked as high as Monroe, maybe higher. Three days ago she turned up dead,
drowned in her bathtub. She was four hours away from turning over valuble
information, we can only assume that she compromised herself some way. If
this agency can retrieve this information as well as pull off this experiment
it means a big cash reward. Cash as in bonuses for all, BIG bonuses. Eve, do
you agree?"

Claire tried to soothe her. "It will be just like going to sleep and waking
up with a mild case of flu. I'll be monitoring you closely and the RNA
dissolves in twenty four hours."

Eve rubbed her temples. "Do I have a choice?"

The Official was silent. Eve raised her eyebrows. "I see. Well, when would
you like to do this?"

"Now. Hobbes and Fawkes, you will accompany Miss Richmont and provide backup.
Do not, I repeat, do not interfere with her in any way. You are there to keep
both her and Eve safe."

Bobby stood up. "There must be someone else. Eve is not trained for this type
of thing."

"True, but Richmont is. Relax Bobby, nothing will go wrong."

Darien looked grim. "Famous last words."

                   Chapter two.

Eve sat in Darien's chair nervously. Bobby was hovering making her
uncomfortable, Claire was preparing the shot and Darien was trying to calm
her down.

"It'll be okay, look, when they did it to me I was fine. Well, I didn't have
the flu and my brother hurt me again but apart from that it was cool."

Darien touched her arm. "He'll be right with you you know." Bobby's
expression softened and Eve relaxed. She tensed again as Claire brandished a
needle in front of her.

"Alright, just a small scratch and we're in business."

Eve winced as she felt the cool liquid invade her body. Claire straightened.

"Okay, count backwards from five."

"Five... four...thr..." Eve's eyes drifted shut and her hands unclenched from
her side. Bobby leaned over and stroked her hair.

"I'll keep you safe Eve, I swear."

Claire bent over with another needle. When that syringe was empty Claire
stood back. Eve stirred and opened her eyes. Darien spoke up first.

"Hey. Do you know who you are?"

"Of course, question is, who the hell are you people?"

Eve's voice was pitched lower and instead of her soft Californian accent
there was a deep southern one. Bobby took a step back as Eve stood up. She
caught sight of herself in a mirror and gasped.

"Oh my god! I'm Marcia Brady. What the fuck is going on?"

Bobby and Darien winced at the swearing. It was strange to hear that come out
of Eve's mouth. She never swore, in fact, she never even raised her voice.
Claire tried to explain.

"Miss Richmont. You are dead I'm afraid, your RNA is inside a woman called
Eve. We brought you back so you can retrieve information."

Suki scowled. " Don't tell me that asshole actually drowned me in my bath?"

Darien looked at Claire. "How does she know that?"

"Her RNA was taken from her two hours after death." Darien nodded his head as
if he understood. Claire turned back to Suki.

"Can you remember where you stored the information?"

"Of course darlin. I just need to change first and do my hair. I mean? Who
wears this kind of thing anyway?"

"Eve does." Bobby sounded on edge. He had taken an instant dislike to the
woman and for some reason he didn't trust her. Suki sniggered.

"Oh good, a yankee. Tell me doodle dandy, is Marcia here your girlfriend?"

"Her name is Eve." Darien was beginning to get annoyed with her. "Look, let's
get you changed and then we can get this over with."

"Sure sugar. Oh, I need a piece, you know, a gun? I assume you're familiar
with those?"

Bobby opened his mouth, Claire interrupted him. "Find Eberts. He'll sort you
something out for your clothes, a company credit card or something."

"Wait. There's a company credit card?" Darien looked excited. Bobby smirked.

"Sure kid. What do you think the gland went on?"

Suki looked impatient. "Where's this Eberts? Come on I feel like my fourth
grade teacher here." She swept out the room followed by Bobby and an uneasy
Darien.

                 Chapter Three

Darien whistled as Suki excited the hair salon. She had cut Eve's hair into a
bob under the chin and the waves were now sleek. One side was tucked behind
her left ear and there was a hint of a fringe. Bobby gaped at her, as much
as he loved Eve, he had to admit this haircut was sensational on her. As well
as the hair she now wore tight dark green leather hipster trousers and
matching cross over top that left her middrift bare, her feet were in black
high heeled boots. Darien felt his left arm disappear.

"Aww crap." he murmured. Bobby spotted what had happened and his expression
grew dark.

" Fawkes, that better not be a sexual reaction."

Darien shook his head and headed for the safety of Golda. Suki put on a tiny
pair of shades and nodded to Bobby.

"Okay, I'm ready. Relax Butch, I did Marcia a favour, the hair needed a major
change and at least I've given her sex appeal." She opened Golda's door and
looked up at Darien. "Move over sugar, but keep your cute ass handy."

They pulled up outside a sleazy bar. Suki removed her shades and smiled at
Darien.

"Okay darlin, I'll be quicker than Bobby in Marcia."

Bobby growled in anger. Suki grinned and climbed out. She disappeared into
the bar.

"If that wasn't Eve's body I'd do some damage to it. God, that woman is a
bigger bitch than Monroe."

"Cuter though."

"You think Evie's cute?"

"Umm, well, sure, in a totally involved with my best friend and I should know
better way."

Bobby glared and sighed. Darien tried to smooth things over.

"Look, I'm sorry about the whole arm thing back there, it meant nothing, I
swear."

"I know, don't sweat it partner, you're a man, I forgive you, but if it
happens again you're toast."

"Fair enough." Darien grinned and glanced out the window. "Hey, do you think
we should go help her?"

Bobby thought about it. "We'll know if she needs help."

Just then, a man came flying out of the bar closely followed by another.
Bobby leapt out and flew across the road. Entering the bar he saw Suki
manhandling another customer. Bobby intercepted a goon that was sneaking up
behind and took him out quickly. Together they cleaned up any opposition with
Suki taking out the last with a pool cue. Bobby grabbed her arm.

"What the hell are you doing?"

"Having a little fun, I love beating up big men. You should be quite safe."

Bobby grabbed her arm and dragged her outside. Suki was laughing and she
twisted out of his grasp easily.

"Now, cool down. You know Marcia hates it when you get riled."

Bobby got into her face. "Her name is Eve. If you ever endanger her like that
again I'll.. "

"What? Kill me? Been there, done that. Do you want the information or not?"

Bobby nodded. Suki walked away. "Follow me darlin. Oh, and bring the tall
sexy one too."

They stood outside a white house. Suki gestured to the ornamental well
outside.

"Okay, that's where it is. I'll be back in a flash."

Suki sneaked into the garden and pulled up the bucket. She took something out
and walked back again. Darien looked stunned.

"It can't be that easy."

"Sure is handsome. Now, let's get this back then we can have some fun."

                    Chapter four.

Suki handed the info over with a smug grin. She was ready for some serious
fun and Darien fitted the bill. She had Eve's memories at the back of her
head so she knew about her and Bobby, which made Darien all the more
tempting. Bobby was trying to guide her to the Keep.

"Okay, I think Claire should take a look at you."

"Later, Darien and me are gonna hit the town. How about it big guy? I've got
eighteen hours left and I'm not wasting them here."

Darien shook his head. "Sorry, I've got homework and it's a schoolnight."

Suki brushed up against him. "Are you sure? I can think of something to do
that keeps you in."

Darien's right leg went this time. "Dammit." He said in frustration.

"Hey!" Bobby was furious by now. Darien backed away and Suki laughed.

"Oh keep still honey. Darien likes what he sees, I'm betting he always has."

Darien looked at Bobby. "I promise, on my honour, I have never thought impure
thoughts about Eve. She's like my sister."

"What's you're view on incest?" Suki purred at him. Darien's other leg
disappeared. It was too much for Bobby and he went for Darien. Suki watched
them tussle for a minute before shrugging.

"Well, it's been fun. I'll give her back when I'm done. Ciao!"

She swayed out the door not looking back. Bobby stopped short of hitting
Darien when he realised she had gone.

"Shit. Where did she go?"

"I don't know, you were busy beating the crap out of me."

"Don't just lie there. Let's find her."

Bobby pulled Darien to his feet and gave him an apologetic look. Darien waved
his hand and they raced out the exit.

Suki had made it as far as the first club she had got to. Darien had spotted
her as they rounded a corner. Bobby strode over the road and put his badge in
the bouncers face.

"Federal Agent. There is a dangerous woman inside that we need to apprehend."

"Was she on the list?"

"Move it, or I'll arrest you. NOW!" Bobby drew his gun. The bouncer backed
off and let them in. Suki was on the dance floor wrapped around some tall
muscle bound man. Darien closed his eyes. The little Tiger was armed and
dangerous and this was going to be nasty. Bobby prodded the man and grabbed
Suki.

"You're under arrest. Sir, I advise you to step away."

Suki waved at Darien. "Hi sugar. Wanna dance? Maybe we can get your whole
body to go."

Bobby jerked her out roughly. Her dance companion had no wish to start a
fight with a crazy little man with a gun so he let them go. Suki laughed and
flirted with Darien all the way back and Bobby just held his temper.
Finally, Bobby pushed her roughly into the counteragent chair. Suki giggled
and winked at Darien.

"Wanna tie me up?"

Bobby lost it and put his gun in her face. "Shut up! One more word and I
swear..."

"What the hell is going on here?" The Official's voice boomed as he entered
the keep. Suki leaned around Bobby.

"He's defending his woman. Big bad Darien wants to take her away and be
naughty."

Darien covered his face. Bobby cocked his gun and Eberts was just staring at
Suki's hair. The Official turned to Darien.

"Hobbes was there first. I believe he is already sleeping with her."

Bobby uncocked the gun and stared at the Official who smirked.

"I'm the Official Bobby, I know everything. I approve." He turned to Suki.
"We have uncoded the disk. Good work."

"Okay, I have to know. What the hell is this all about?" Darien asked.

Eberts stopped staring long enough to answer. "It has all the names of agency
moles. Past, present and possible future."

"Hmm. Who drowned her then?" Bobby had to know.

"My so called boyfriend. We were having a fight, I went to have a bath, when
I was relaxing he snuck up on me. Sneaky bastard."

"I thought you were a top agent?" Bobby returned some of her goading.

"A top agent who always wears earplugs in the bath. It's more relaxing."

Claire entered the room. "Hello. Does someone want me?"

"Oh yeah. Get this bitch out of Eve." Bobby hissed.

"Oh honey, you're so cute when you're riled." Suki smiled sweetly. Bobby
glared at her.

"Lady, if you were the last woman alive I still wouldn't want you."

"Alright. Doctor, can you eliminate Miss Richmont?" The Official enquired.

"Eliminate? Now hold up. No-one's gonna eliminate me." Suki got up and
prepared to fight. Bobby put his gun down and beckoned her on.

"Let's go sugar." Bobby said softly, imitating her accent.

Suki glared and kicked out. Bobby caught her leg neatly and up ended her.
Suki bounced up gracefully and executed a roundhousekick to Bobby's chest. He
went back but not far. Suki frowned.

"Damm, this body's slow."

Darien swung her round and swooped on her mouth. Whilst Bobby gaped, Claire
quickly injected her in her neck. Suki hissed and punched Darien in his
stomach. She staggered towards the door but collapsed before reaching it.
Claire checked her pulse and motioned for Bobby to pick her up. Claire held
up the needle.

"Polypeptide. Good stuff that. Suki should be gone."

On cue, The woman in the chair groaned. Bobby anxiously watched as she opened
her eyes.

"Bobby? Did it work?"

"Yes Evie. You did good."

Eve nodded and got up unsteadily. She caught sight of herself in the mirror
and screamed.

"My god. I can see my ass in these and what did she do to my hair?"

Eve spun round and tried to cover her middrift. Darien looked away awkward
now Eve was back. It was strange, he had wanted Suki, but he felt nothing
sexual for Eve. Now all he had to do was convince Bobby. The Official slapped
Bobby on the back.

"Good job all of you. Now, Eberts? Lets go and see about those bonuses. Oh
and Eve? You don't get extra for sleeping with an agent."

Eve's mouth dropped open. Bobby chuckled. "He knows sweetheart."

Darien tapped Bobby on the shoulder. "Hey, look man, I'm really sorry. Are we
cool?"

"Sure. It was Suki you wanted right?"

"Absolutely, no feelings for Eve apart from friendship. Scouts honour."

Bobby nodded. Eve looked confused. Darien smiled at both of them.

"Take her home sugar. I'll clean up here." Fawkes glanced round the keep.

Bobby and Eve walked out, Darien grinned when he saw Bobby take Eve's hand
possesively then wrap his arm around her. Eve started sneezing and Bobby's
voice saying 'Bless you' could be heard as they went down the hall. He hoped
Suki was gone for good, but with these things, it was impossible to be sure.

The End.?

Things Change.

Darien sat in his chair awaiting his shot. The door opened and Eve entered
closely followed by Bobby. They were in the middle of a fight.

"Bobby please, I said I don't want to discuss it here."

"Too bad, you can't say no and expect me to be happy about it."

"I've told you, I've been married and it didn't work for me. Can't we stay as
we are?"

"No, I need more."

Eve threw the file she was holding onto Claire's desk. Darien was trying to
be as small as possible, he didn't want to get in the middle of one of their
rows. Eve sighed.

"Look, I don't need an old fashioned tradition to know that I love you and
that I want to be with you. Please try to understand that."

"Well, I'm an old fashioned guy, I love you and I want to marry you."

"I'm sorry Bobby, I can't say yes please don't ask me again."

Eve's eyes filled with tears and she ran out the room. Bobby punched the
wall. Darien winced, that had to hurt, Claire was biting her lip as she gave
Darien his shot and the two of them exchanged a worried glance. Darien spoke
first.

"Want to talk about it?"

"No." Bobby's jaw was set as he stared at the ground. He couldn't understand
Eve. He had been married and hurt too, yet he was willing to take the chance
again, why wasn't she? Claire took her turn.

"Bobby, she obviously has a good reason for what she's doing, give her some
time she'll change her mind."

Bobby looked up. "No, she won't. Eve has made herself clear and I won't ask
again, ever."

Darien was alarmed at this statement. "Bobby, you can't mean that it's over?
Eve'll be devastated and what will it do to you? Claire's right, give her
some time."

Bobby looked at his partner blandly. "We have a meeting with the fatman, are
you done?" Darien nodded. Bobby gestured to the door. "Lets go."

Eve was busy filing and she was really upset. Bobby had proposed the night
before and had taken her completely by suprise. Eve had felt a sense of
despair as she heard the words and had said no . Bobby had been so mad and
hurt, but she couldn't get him to understand. After a huge fight, Eve had
left, but Bobby had been waiting for her as she came into work. She rubbed
her temples, she had suggested living together but Bobby had sneered and said
that if she didn't love him enough to marry him what was the point. That had
hurt, Eve loved Bobby more than anything and he knew it. She stared at the
boxes in front of her without seeing anything, why did he have to make things
difficult?

Darien hung on for dear life. Bobby was driving like a madman and Darien
seriously wondered if they were going to make it in one piece. Finally, Bobby
stopped in front of a jewelery store.

"I'll be right back, just gotta return something."

"Hold up, lets see it first." Darien had his hand on Bobby's arm. Bobby drew
out a box and flipped it open. A single diamond flashed in the sunlight.
Darien whistled. "Nice."

Bobby looked at it sadly and closed the box. "Do you think I'll get a refund
or credit?" Darien said nothing, Bobby shrugged, "No matter, it's no use to
me without Eve's finger to put it on." He got out of Golda with Darien
following close behind. Darien couldn't let Bobby do this on his own, he was
still hoping to talk him out of it.

"Bobby? What about this one?" Darien pointed to a gold ring with a tiny ruby
and diamond twist. Bobby raised an eyebrow.

"She said no Fawkes, a different ring ain't gonna change her mind."

Darien closed his eyes and prayed for patience. "I was there Bobby, I heard
what she said. This is less intimidating than an engagement ring, maybe if
you give her this and try living together you'll have more luck."

"Living together? Eve said that, but I say if she wants to live together why
not get married?"

Darien fought the urge to throttle his partner. "Hobbes? This is the new
millenium, if Eve doesn't dig the marriage thing then you'll have to accept
that. She wants to share your life just not legally what's wrong with that?"
Bobby was silent, Darien went for gold. "Things change, if you give her this
then she'll think you're wonderful and be living with you by tomorrow. If you
bail on her then you'll be lonely again and she'll find someone else and
probably go off and have five kids. The choice, Agent Hobbes is up to you."

Darien turned on his heel and went back to Golda. Ten minutes later Bobby
emerged and got in. "You're an interferring asshole Fawkes and I hate you."

Darien smiled. "You're welcome." Bobby grunted and pulled out into the
traffic driving a little more carefully than before.

Bobby disappeared when they got back. He made his way to the archives hoping
to find Eve. Sure enough, she was there and still looking tearful. Bobby took
a deep breath and tapped her on the shoulder. She jumped and frowned.

"Don't do that, you scared me half to death."

"Sorry." Bobby said and reached into his pocket. Eve groaned.

"Bobby don't. I don't want to fight with you."

"Evie, just listen. I still want to marry you but," Bobby held up his hand as
Eve opened her mouth, "I don't want to lose you so.." He got out a small box
and gave it to her. "Will you live with me?"

Eve swallowed when she saw the ring, she preferred it to the other one. Bobby
stood waiting, wondering if Fawkes could have been wrong. He watched as Eve
put the ring on the third finger on her left hand and smiled at him.

"I will live with you as long as you want me."

Bobby scooped her up and kissed her passionately his hands everywhere at
once. Eve moaned and reached between their bodies rubbing the front of his
pants. Bobby jerked and thrust closer to her. Eve sighed as she felt her
blouse leave her shoulders.

Eberts was trying to get into the archives. Eve had changed the code on the
door and he had knocked for ages. The door opened and Bobby came through a
big grin on his face.

"Hey Eberts. Nice tie." Bobby whistled as he walked down the hall. Eve came
out next looking pleased with herself and tucking her hair behind one ear.

"Oh, Albert. Help yourself to whatever I'm going to see Claire." she smiled
dreamily at him as she drifted in the opposite direction Bobby had taken.
Eberts smiled slightly. It was a good job the cameras had been taken out, he
opened the door and went down to his beloved archives.

The End.
