Nancy Rodes was born 10/27/1861 AR and died 01/04/1935 At Waldon AR. daughter of William Roden and Minerva McClennon-Roden "aka" Rodes. Married James Allen 11/12/1876 Sebastian Co., AR., born 1847 and died 1921 AR.,Both, Nancy and James are buried at the Shiloa Cemetery, South of Waldron,AR.

UPDATE 07/2004: Still searching for Parents and Family of James Allen.
1930 Scott County Census, Blansett Township list Nancy Allen living with son, John Allen age 28 and Wife Bertha Johnson-Allen age 19. They have one child, son Tommie J Allen, age 3. Nancy is listed as age 71.
Jess C. Allen is in the same census, Jess C Allen age 28, Lena M Johnson-Allen age 20 and son, Hershell Allen age 3.
We also have, Raymond Watson m. Martha (Mattie) Allen with children, Nancy age 10, and Beatrice age 6.
Charlie F. Allen with wife Azzie and children, Eva M age 7, Lloyd age 4 and J.D. age 2.

Note: This 1900 census shows Nancy had 9 children with 8 living.
Manervy would be the 8th living child found in the 1900 Census. Marindy age 1 in the 1880 census has died between 1880 and 1900. No information on her death has been found.

Notes for Rainy and Lenel Howard; Rainy is nick name for Manervy Allen, 2nd child of James and Nancy Allen. She married Lenel Howard on March 03 1900, Montgomery County AR.
1910 Sevier Co., AR census list: Howard, Lemuel age 27, wife, Manervy age 28,
children, Thomas L. age 9, Therna V. age 7, Mary N. age 4 and Manerva N. age 2. (Remember, Manerva McClennon-Rhodes is the name of Nancy Allens Mother, grandmother to Manervy and great grandmother to Manervy's child, Manerva.

1910 Yell Co., AR Census Briggsville TWP list:
Allen, James age 62 born in TN, father born in PA, mother born in TN
Allen, Nancy A, age 48 born in AR, father and mother born in AL
Caharlie age 15, Jesse age 13, John W. age 11 and Martha age 9.

Note: Martha age 9 in the 1910 census in the 10 child known for Nancy and James Allen with 9 still living.

Note: George Allen is listed in the 1910 Yell Co., Briggsville TWP, age 28 with wife Dovie age 23, step daughter Viola (Range) ? age 5 and son, Henry Allen age 2.
They were married in Montgomery County AR., on February 20, 1907. George W. Allen is listed as age 24 and she is listed as Miss. Dovie Turner age 21. I found a second marriage License dated May 23, 1916 for Mrs. Dovie Allen age 30 to W. H. Bybee age 33.
George Allen must have died between 1910 census and 1916. No death information has been found for him.

This 1920 census also list: John F. Hill age 43 and wife Ethel N. (Allen) age 29 and children, James T. age 12, George age 10, William age 8, David age 5, and Alice E. age 11 month.
Raymond Watson with wife Martha Allen should have been in this census. I think I just missed them and will look again.
This same census also list: Raymond Watson age 28 and Mattie age 18.
1920 Sandoval Co., NM census list; Thomas F. Wasson, Lessa Wasson and children.
1930 Valencia Co., NM census list; Thomas F. Wasson, Allen (Melissa) Wasson. Their children were; Francis Ouydia b. 1911 AR, Thomas Benton Wasson born NM, Frank Wasson born NM, Elmer Wasson born NM, Thelma Wasson born NM.

Note: Lena Allen states that Nancy had 4 other children that preceded her in death. No names given.
Update: I have found Nancy Rhodes-Allen and James Allen with family in the 1900 Montgomery AR Census, thanks to Jackie Allen, great grandson of James and Nancy.

*Nancy Rodes was not listed with her Rhodes Family in the 1880 Census, she had married in 1876 and moved away with her husband.   1870 Census showed her age 10, ca born 11/1860, (other census show her born in Oct 1860) born after the 1860 census was taken in July. Family states she was born Oct 1861.

2nd married Abner Webb abt 1883, born 4/1867 AR., died 08/31/1951 McCurtain Co., OK., parents were Joshua Webb born ca 7/1841 VA and Mother Learner Webb born ca 5/1848 AL.

Parents were Joshua Webb born ca 7/1841 VA., and Learner Webb born ca 5/1848 AL. (New: Sawmill explosion date 7/15/1910)

My Mother, Nora Bell Rhodes-Jones had told me that her Uncle James Webb, half-brother Van H Rhodes and some of her other relatives was killed in the Sawmill Explosion near Watson OK. Her Father George W Rhodes was injured in the same explosion. (New; James Webb, William Webb and Van H Rhodes was killed in the explosion on 7/15/1910. George W Rhodes was hurt).(See Webb Saw Mill Explosion on Surname page).
