After the horror at the Zoo, Lindsay, Allie and I headed off for the Gion area of Kyoto.  We all have read "Memiors of a Geisha" now, and we were desperate to see one!  We went to dinner at a cute little diner.  We also found out after the meal, that they charge a table tax-2.50 a person!  So I paid about $7 for some rice! On our way to Gion, after dinner, we saw this huge MOb of people!

I liked this sign-I basically stopped the flow of people just to get a picture too!

I astarted asking some people around what was going one...turned out there was gonna be a famous person coming out of the building we were near!  So I kept asking questions.  He is a famous japanese singer, who is like our fathers age (so if we saw him we wouldnt know the difference between him and every other Japanese male we always see!)  So he finally came out-and it wasnt that impressive.  Something interesting did happen in the about half an hour we were standing there.  So some woman came up and asked me (in plain english) what was going on.  Me in Japanese mode, started speaking in Japanese...then she yelled at me.  "In English" she yelled!  It was kinda rude, I thought.

So finally after our expensive dinner, the mob scene, and being yelled at-we saw a Geisha!  You should have seen us when we spotted her-we were jumping around and all excited!  We stalked her for about 5 minutes-she probably thought we were crazy-we were just so excited!
