The Parade
On the 3rd of November Lindsay and I took part in a parade in Hikone.  The Hikone Festival was in full swing, and we were to be dressed in full kimono for the event!  Sadly, none of the pictures of me in my Kimono turned out on the digital...but hopesully my hard copies will!
They started the day by painting our entire faces white, eye lids, lips, ect.  Then they dressed us in full kimono (but no obi, the part around the waist), and added a red ribbon around the shoulders...I assumed for the festival!
This is the only pic I have of me so far.  I man who owns a film shop here in Hikone took it the day of the parade and was kind enough to get it to me!
After we ate lunch, our lips were painted red and they gave us our HUGE hats!
We were "Americans on Parade" as soon as we stepped outside, we couldnt get the cameras out of our faces for a moment!
Two boys from JCMU also were dressed in Old atire!  See below.
Below are some pictures of different people who were in the parade...it was huge.  There were people fighting, a HUGE drum, (that took at least 10 guys to carry) and so many elaborate "costumes"
