| As all of you may or may not know, I love zoos-so Lindsay, Allie, and I went to the zoo in Kyoto. The entire time there I wished to cry! I was beyond disgusted with the way these animals were forced to live. They had such little space, and what they did have seemed very dirty-compared to the zoos I visit in the US! | |||||||||||||||||||||

| The Elephants housing was by fare the worst, I couldnt imagine him even being able to turn around in it. He also couldnt have stretched his trunk all the way out-without hiting a wall in any direction! As for the big cats, they could do no more than walk in a little circle. They are such beautiful animals, and such a wretched place! The apre below, had a growth on the side of his face (I dont know if u can see it in the picture) it was horrible-it looked so painful. Not to mention all he had was a little concrete cell-something of that nature wouldnt even be seen fit for an inmate in the U.S. |

| I, and the other girls, were very upset by what we saw that day in Kyoto. We understand that Japan is a small islandnation-but there is no reason to hold these animals in such a way as they did! It was by far the worst experience I have had here, and would never want to go through it again! It was deeply upsetting and depressing to see these beautiful things in such a state. To hear the monkeys howling for the entire time there, and just wailing. To see the elephant not even able to move! It was very much unsetteling. | |||||||||||||||||||||
