If you enjoy watching movies that are intense as well as humorous I recommend you see “Bad Boys Two.” This film is produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and directed by Michael Bay who has also directed “Bad Boys One”, “Men In Black”, “Rush Hour Two”, and many other movies. Will Smith and Martin Lawrence star as two narcotics detectives who have to deal with issues between their partnership while trying to catch a dangerous and massive supplier of ecstasy in this Action/Comedy/Thriller.
Although Mike (Smith) and Marcus (Lawrence) have been partners for a long time, they still do not always get along so well. They hold personal issues and some secrets between one another. One of these secrets is that Mike is seeing Marcus’ sister. While great tension is created between the two, they have to put their personal differences aside in order to crack their case.
This movie has been rated R, due to strong violence and action, persuasive language, sexuality and drug content. Its intended audience is for Young Adults and Adults. The story is easy to follow even if you have not seen the first movie. However, the characters can be a little confusing to understand because they talk pretty fast. For the most part though, everything is pretty clear.
Not all reviewers took a liking to the movie as I did. Robert Ebert in “Chicago Sun-Times” said, “The movie is a bloated, unpleasant assembly line extrusion in which there are a lot of chases, killings, and explosions.” He also stated that he was wondering if the makers had lost touch with human nature. Rolling Stone said, ““Bad Boys Two” was a disgusting piece of work, and the producers should be ashamed of themselves.”
I saw the movie in Franklin, NC, at Ruby Cinemas (1-828-524-2076). The movie was showing at 7:00 and 10:00 pm. It is just about two and a half hours long. The admission’s charge is six dollars. However, it’s well worth it if you enjoy action packed/hilarious movies. The movie opened on July 18 2003. I don’t believe that crowdedness will become a problem as the movie has already had its “grand opening.” Therefore there will probably not be any need to buy your tickets in advance.
My overall rating of the movie is that it was a “must-see”! I would rate the actors an 8.5 out of a possible ten (there is always room for some improvement). It was an excellent combination of Action, Comedy, and Romance.
