What a beautiful painting! Another magnificent work by French impressionist Claude Oscar Monet (1840-1926). The work is entitled 'Woman with a Parasol' ~ the lady is Camille Monet and the boy is the Monets' son Jean. Painted in 1875, the original painting is in the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. Alas, the image presented here does NOT do the original work any justice, so I urge you to see the original painting in person, if you are ever in Washington, D.C., or at the very least, view it electronically via the link below. But if you view via the electronic link below, do view it full screen (F11) so you can see almost all of the image without scrolling. It really needs to be fully visible on the screen to have full visual impact.

In an earlier page, I stated that to me at least, the premier art site is Carol Gerten's Fine Art (CGFA), the work of Carol Gerten-Jackson. This image does appear on her site and you can view it here (USA) here, (Japan) and at other mirror sites around the world. And do drop by Carol's 'Monet' biography. For additional information about the artist, Artcyclopedia has many links to galleries and sites that feature Monet's work.
