IN MEMORY OF
WALTER LAFAYETTE BULL
Walter was born in Novice, Coleman County, Texas on December 08, 1913.  As a  boy of 15, he rode in a "barn-stormer" biplane.  This ride initiated his hobby of carving small wooden airplans (and later helicopters and jets).  As an adult, he loved to grow roses of all types, expecially yellow roses.  He also refurbished old, discarded bicycles and gave them away to needy children.  He provided over 300 to a local orphanage.
When he was buried, his coffin was arrayed with a floral arrangement of yellow roses over a thick green bed of foliage.  In the center of the arrangement was a deep red rose, signifying his deep love for his wife, Ruth Louise Bourgeois Bull.  Intertwined into the green foliage and yellow roses were many of his hand carved airplanes...
YELLOW ROSES
FOR A BIG TEXAS SMILE.

PLANTED DEEP
IN LOVING HEART.

IN THE CENTER,
A DEEP RED ROSE,

MINDFUL OF
HIS DARLING RUTH.

AMIDST THE GREEN FOLIAGE
ARTFULLY DONE PLANES.

HANDCARVED WITH LOVE,
TO ALL HE WOULD PLEASE.

LITTLE TOKENS
OF HIS EVERY-THOUGHTFUL HEART.

GIVEN FREELY
WITHOUT A SECOND THOUGHT.

AMASSED THIS MAN
A NATION OF LOVE AND CARE.

ALWAYS CENTERED
ON GOD'S HOLY WILL.

LOVE THY NEIGHBOR
AS YOU LOVE THYSELF.

WORDS TO LIVE BY
WITHOUT REGRET.

SHINE THE WORLD
WITH HIS BIG SMILE.

YELLOW ROSES
FOR A BIG TEXAS SMILE.
