| Mom was born in Rogersville, Tennessee and moved to Knoxville shortly before she was married. She had one brother and one sister. Dad was born in Boyds Creek, Tennessee, and had one sister and five brothers. Mom and Dad were married in Knoxville, Tennessee on May 25, 1929. They had 5 children, 3 girls and 2 boys. Dad loved horses and was still breaking them at age 70. He would give anyone needing it his last dime. Mom always loved all kinds of birds, from canaries to peacocks and she usually had some to care for. She was a talker and never met a stranger. They were both happiest living in the country. They lived in Indiana, Texas and California for many years but moved back to Tennessee in the mid 80's. Mom died at the age of 77 from Ovarian Cancer. Dad died at the age of 92 from pneumonia following a stroke. They were well loved and are missed by so many of us. Mom and Dad, you are always in my heart and often on my mind. |
