Ipswich Region Community Church

This is the church that I go to. It is great. I absolutely love God. I simply love to praise and worship Him. The church does not currently have a website.

In 2001, I started a devotional journal (in the past I did devotions but I didn't keep the jounal). Everyday you read a few chapters of the Bible. Then in your journal you record an important passage that speaks to your heart, summerise the message from God and write a small prayer. You then give the text a title and record the page number. At the beginning of the book, you write the title of the message and the page number so when you have a problem (or one of your friends/family), you can consult the index and find the relevent verses.

Devotions allows you to spend time with God and since the Bible is the living Word, you will actually recieve messages from God which are relevant to your situation. Usually when you are having prolems and you read the Bibile, the solution will come to you as you are reading. And by reading 3-5 chapters of the Bible each day, in one year you will have read the Bible. How great is that? That means if you continue to write devotions each year, you will be reading the Bible EACH YEAR... this is fabulous.

Praise and Worship

I love listening to Hillsong praise and worships songs. They are contemporary and I feel that they are the message that my heart longs to say. My church also has excellent praise and worship music too, due to all the talented musicians and songwriters that attend the church.

I listen to 96.5 FM, a Christian radio station, which recieved a full-time lisence in 2001 after 27 years on air.

Life groups (aka home groups)

My friend Kellie is the leader of one of the many life groups (formally known as home groups.) Actually, Kellie's group is the one that I attend. Every second Tuesday we get together for a Bible study, pray, praise and worship and fellowship night. Then on the second Saturday we get together to do something, roller skating, ice skating, 3D movies, board games, BBQ's, swimming or whatever. During the holidays, I spend a lot more time with these people.

This is, from left: Jane, Rhett, Kellie, Diana. Bek is in the blue top and I am taking the photo.

Recently we have been to the Marburg dance, which was a bit of a hoot, as it was all olf fashioned danced. Did manage to dance a few times.

On the Easter weekend, the Australian Gospal music festival was held. This year, I went up just for the day. It was costly, but so worth it. Probably the highlight for me was the very last act, the Lads....those guys are so funny and their music is fantastic. I will post some pictures soon, if they turn out. I really wished that I had a video camera when I saw them because they were just awesome.

Psalm 37:4 "Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart."

This picture was taken on Fathers Day 2002 at church. Every year we have the men's choir. You will notice the presents in the far right of the stage (jocks, brut, a tie...).
