The Goddess of My Heart

© Marina Seabourne 2003

I stand at the Sea shore lost in the sight of the endless expanse of ocean. This wondrous place that pulls at my heart so. I am helpless to resist the call of the Sea. My very heart is lost in the endless horizon. The Sea Goddess is the jewel in the lotus flower that blooms within my heart. She calls to me with the voices of the gulls, and the hiss of the foamy surf on the sands of the shore. She fondles my hair with the gentle breezes of sea-scented air. She caresses my body and spirit as I bathe myself in Her blessed waters.

She carries my body as I swim beneath the waves and strokes my flesh with her loving caress. I am within the Goddess as I swim down here. The dance of the sea grasses wave to me as I pass, gently stroking my body in welcome. As I rise for air, the water parts and my face is greeted by the warmth of the Sun God shining his blessing upon all of creation.

I lay afloat upon the blessed waters letting the waves carry my body back to the shore. I feel the sand beneath me and the sudden heaviness of my body as I find my footing. My body seems to resist the return to the shore. The receding waves pull at my feet as though wanting to carry me back to the sea. Deep in my heart of hearts I long to go. I long to be one with the Sea Goddess. I yearn to swim unencumbered by breath, but free to swim to the bottomless depths and return to the surface to feel the warmth of the Sun God once again upon my face.

I stand at the shore and breathe the salty air and feel the abrasive winds lashing through my hair. The spray of the surf as the waves thunder ashore anoints my body and spirit with the mists of the Goddess, she whispers to me in the hiss of the sea foam and I am her child.

When I come to the shore, I am with Her once again. For me, these visits to the Sea are a form of physical contact with the Goddess. For I know that She is there. I know, because I hear Her voice on the winds. I feel Her caresses in the waters. I smell Her scent in the Air. I feel Her love within my heart. She is my Goddess and my blessed Mother. And I know that I am loved.

Listen to the voice of the Goddess on the gentle sea breezes; hear the memory of her sigh in a beautiful conch shell. Feel Her caresses as you bathe your body and spirit in Her waters. Feast your eyes upon Her beauty at the Seashore. She is there for all who seek to know Her love.
