The Damned
We have been battling the orks for the greatest time. Their cursed warcries ring in all of our ears. Our Apothacaries are not enough to help our growing casualties. We can barely ebb the flow of orkdom as is, for lack of armorment and men. Even us, the holy marines can barely hold back the vile green mutants. Our position is superior to theirs, but it is only a matter of time before they flood us. We run low on bolter shells, and plasma clips for the cannons. Our heavy weapons have been firing nonstop to hold back the smelly savages, our tactacals letting a wave of shells when they near. We have little ammunition, and less hope. We cannot stop this Waagh, but can only hope to slow it. We pray to the Emporer to let us hold them back, and guide us safely to the next plane of exestence. Our proud white and black armor is dirtied. Our tactics useless. The orks are closing in, and our sqauds are weakened and broken, if not killed. We prepare to serve the Emporer to the end. \line But as we heard the orks descend, could almost smell them, their warcries and hate yells bacame shrill and fearful. Most of the marines, including me, looked to the orks. We saw them freaking out, but knew not why. Then, the shapes appeared above our trenches. They were marines, but who i did not know. It then hit me...they are the Legion of the Damned. They leapt through our battle lines at the orks, their black carapace colored with flames and bones, making them look ghoulish, almost like chaos traitors. They rans right into the orks, through their bullets, ignoring the explosions and the shells. Our black battle bretheren continued, firing round after round, killing ork after ork. I then rallied my Omega Marines and followed our mysterious bretheren. It all made sence. Our defence couldnt hold out, and the orks werent prepared for an offence. We followed them, their destructive advance giving us energy, and making us want to spill greenskin blood. The battle ended swiftly, ou r devastators demolishing a sqaud of trucks that in turn, burning many of the orks. The rest fell swiftly, the Warboss seemed to meet his fate at the hands of one of the skull clad marines. Int the mists of crimson and explosions, we lost track of our bla ck bretheren. I chanted a litany of salvation for them, as they indicate some secret sin that they exiled themselves for. As we began to regroup, the drop ships and thunderhawks began landing. Parts of the Fifth company came rushing out. The marines thats came out were surprized to see the destruction wrought. The only words spoken where by Sergent Brother Malius. "you guys are always late, my brothers"
