A Native of Chicago Illinois, Commander Libehaber graduated from the University of Illinois, Champaigne-Urbana, earning a Bachelor of Science in Business Education and Marketing. As a midshipman in the NROTC program, he graduated as the Distinguished Naval Graduate and was commissioned an Ensign in the Supply Corps in 1981. In June 1994, Commander Liebhaber earned a Master's Degree in Business Administration from City University, Bellvue, Washington. He also holds a professional education certificate for the State of Washington during his Naval career.
Commander Liebhaber's assignments have provided him extensive logistics and financial management experience. Alfoat he has served aboard two ships, the USS Duluth (LPD-6) and the USS O'Callahan (FF-1051), both homeported in San Siego, California. Shore assignments included Physical Distributions Officer, Trident Refit Facility, Bangor, Washington; Director of Logistics, REDCOM ONE, Newport, Rhode Island; Officer in Charge, Fleet Integrated Logistics Overhaul Site, Bremerton, Washington; Assistant Chief of Staff for Supply and Financail Management, Commander, Mine Group One, Seattle, Washington; and Material Support Division Director, Naval Aviation Depot, Alameda, California.
The Commander's last assignment in the Navy was as Officer in Charge, Fleet and Industrial Supply Center, Everett Detachment and Assistant Chief of Staff for Supply and Financial Management, Naval Surface Group, Pacific Northwest, in June 1998. In that position, he was responsible for providing financial management and logistics support to ten ships, numerous shore commands and over 4,500 military personnel stationed in the Pacific Northwest.
CDR Liebhaber's personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, five Navy Commendation Medals, three Navy Achievement Medals, and various unit and service awards.
CDR Liebhaber and his wife, Lana, have four daughters, Eleanor, Catie, Kimberly, and Theresa and reside in Edmonds, Washington.
