I wish to tell the story of my DX life! Sit down kiddies! It’s a long story! Once upon a time, a guy named Joe was walking around a half-priced books store and something caught his eye! YES! It was a 3-in-1 game pack! On it, he noticed Deus Ex! He is reminded that now he has a computer that was fast enough to play it! So he bought it! He had a version that he got off of good old Kazaa, but it did not work, Thus: "Buy the game!!" He thought. Can’t go wrong there, right?? WRONG! By the time that Joe got this game pack home, he noticed that on the back of the box, in kind of small print... it said.... TRIAL VERSION!!! "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!" "Aw, screw it. If it truly is good, then I will buy it. Otherwise, I wasted 20 dollars!!" Joe tried the game. The training was not terribly difficult! It was better than the only real stealth/espionage game that I have ever played, Perfect Dark for the N64! I played the first level.... WOW! THIS GAME IS SO GREAT! I played it for.... I think.... 3 straight days! Until the inevitable happened... THE END OF THE TRIAL!! "AGAIN, NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!" So, the next day, Joe ran over to the stores as early as he could get in, and he found that... NOT ONE FULL VERSION DX WAS EVEN IN EXISTANCE! I checked all over... nothing. Until... I came across a 4-in-one... Had some crappy edios games and... GASP! IT HAD A *FULL VERSION* OF DX! WEE!! I bought it and brought it home immediately! I played DX for almost a week straight. Well, after brooding over the greatness of the game and the crappyness of the endings, I tried out the MULTIPLAYER! (At this point, it is roughly June 20th, 2003) Seemed fun enough... I got killed a lot, but HEY! One day, I was playing in some server (Jim B's I think... I loved that BOWEN BOT :D) and I noticed that some guy was part of a clan called GODZ. From my previous knowledge of HALFLIFE multiplayer, I knew that the tag meant a clan... Who ever this GODZ guy was, he seemed to make it sound like fun, to be in a clan... Just as a joke, Joe asked him if he could JOIN! He did not expect an answer, but he got one. MEET A GUY NAMED NOCHANC ON MODAY!! So... Joe did. He found him, and tried to fight him... DAMN was he hard!! The rules were, if I could GEP him 3 times, I would be in! ....... I GEPed him 5 times. Well! I was in. Got an AIM list and some secret pass code that does not work anywhere. lol. (The Time was around July 4th...) It was fun! Now I was part of a place! I could get to know people! weee! The reason I like being in a clan in the first place is to meet new people! Ah yes... I remember, back in the old days of Half-life... I would go back to my favorite server: Sniper's Haven!! There, I knew a nice guy named Johnny Sniper. He showed me the ropes, helped me with my game. Good guy! Unfortunately, he had to close the server because of money/time problems. HL was never the same. BUT! Now I have joined GODZ! Lotsa nice people! That night, when I joined GODZ, me and nochanc and some other random people had a PARTY! I stayed up until 4 in the morning!!! It was fun! I even got some screen shots :D But... then a terrible thing happened.... My graphics card was turned into mush. I needed to bring it into the shop. I said good day to a few of my friends and a good day and thanks to my good pal nochanc... and brought it in. A week later, after reading up to Return of the King in The Lord of the Rings trilogy (because I had no computer to keep me entertained...) I got my computer back. FINALLY! Joe set out to find everyone including nochanc and tell them the good news, but they were gone. Nochanc had his computer stolen, and I could not find anyone else. At that point, I decided to MAKE MY OWN SERVER!!! Success! It was kind of like the HL server systems, except you could join your own dedicated server! :o It was amazing.... PEOPLE WOULD LITERALLY FLOCK TO MY SERVER, FOR NO APPARENT REASON!!! All I had my server name as was this: "[GODZ]_Joe's Server. Come On In!" Now, can someone tell me WHY people would be attracted to THAT?? I would get 5- 10 people an HOUR! WHY?!?! Anyways, I accepted this as generous gift as a present from the DX GODs. lol. Those wacky deities! (Remember, Deus in Latin means God.) But that's just some useless trivia! lol! As my skills with the server grew (as well as my distrust... Fucking hackers!!) I met many new and interesting people! My favorite being good old Yuri, who has been there since the very beginning. He has been in the server almost everyday. Thanks YURI! But, among Yuri, many other interesting people came up. One of my early friends was Player_452. He was nice at first, but became an asshole that rooted for my server's destruction for some reason. I think he was jealous that I had more traffic.. A later friend, kattana, was the swiftest shot in DX. I would not suggest getting in a 1-on-1 battle with kattana. Very good with the sniper... Also, some of my early morning friends, being DarkKnight and Kytax! Kytax hates cats for some reason, and I yank her chain about it... and Dark Knight LOOOOVEs the music bot. DOOF! Of course, some of the best people I have met are those in GODZ. My favorites being Jim Bowen and Nobody. Nobody helped me with tweaking my server with mods and such, and Jim helped me by making mods, and recently showing me how to make my own! Thanks, Guys! A Great thanks goes out to them! I know there are many more people that come and go, and you are all very nice. Don't take the fact that I did not mention you as an insult or anything... These days (September 22, 2003), (Revised and posted on this website on October 25th, 2003) my server is still popular, and it is, in fact, the first server on the list. I hope that DX will live on forever. I hope DX 2 will be as good as the original! If they have MP, I'll be there! :D Anyways, that's the end of my story.

PS: Did you notice in my story, I randomly switch from first person to third person narrative?? LOL!
