TIP OF THE DAY | ||||
How's everybody doing today? Today's hot topic is "How to use a telephone?" With all the technology that surrounds us today, we often forget those inventions that changed our lives forever. Like the telephone. The telephone is no longer a luxury, it is now a way to make money. Phone companies make millions for everycall, every minute that we spent on the phone. But we're so used to using a telephone that we forget that they are people out there who have never used one. We, at this website, believe that everyone has the right to know so we will now provide with information on how to use the telephone. The following steps will enable an individual to successfully make an outgoing telephone call: Step 1: Locate a telephone device. (Locating a telephone is very simple. In the house, they are usually found where people have put them, like on a table or a desk. On the streets, phones are located where the local telephone company has installed them- usually on busy public areas such as the mall, the shopping center, or the liquor store) Step 2: Once you have located a telephone device, you need to raise its handset- the part of the phone with two speakers on the end and a thin grip in the middle connecting both ends usually connected by a spring cord to the phone set (the bigger part) Nowadays, cordless phones are very common, do not fear them, they are completely harmless. Phone designs vary by manufacture and model. Many have the dialing pad on the phone set and others have the dialing pad on the handset.--. Go ahead and put the handset on any of your ears (whichever fits you). One of the speaker is the transmitter and the other is the receiver. The transmitter should be kept by the mouth and the receiver by the ear. Don't worry, it doesn't hurt and the dial tone- the continuous beeping sound on the receiverr- will not cause ear damage or hearing loss. Step 3. Take a good look at the dialing pad, get familiarize with it, get use to the numbers and its default order (notice the default order is different from calculators) Once you have familiarize yourself with the dialing pad, attempt to dial a number. For the sake of simplicity, we will provide you with a number to dial. The number to dial is 911. The way to dial is by punching each number, left to right, one at a time. You will now hear call tone, which is a intermitent sound, repeated every other second. If you received a constant beeping sound, it means the number you have dialed is busy, meaning it is in used. Step 4: To engage in a conversation, simply speak. Unlike, two-way radios, the transmitter and receiver on telephone devices work simultainiously- you will be able to speak and hear at the same time. Step 5. To end a call, simply set the handset back on the phoset. Or if equipped, press the hang-up button either on the phoneset or handset. NOTES: Payphones require money to be fed into them before they can connect a call. You may deposit the required amount before dialing a number or after dialing the number and the operator tells you the amount to deposit.
