BIOGRAPHY -  Albert Taylor TERRY

Albert Taylor Terry , second child and only son of Horace Walter and Ida Irene (Taylor) TERRY, was born January 9, 1898, in Onondaga Township, Ingham County, Michigan.

He  died April 26, 1909, at the early age of 11 years, the result of a brain tumor caused by an accidental blow on the head from a stone thrown by a playmate in the Arelius school yard.

His tragic, wasting illness over a period of about a year, during which time he became blind and suffered agonizing pain, proved a blow from which his mother never recovered.  However, awareness of his condition never diminished Albert's unfaltering courage in the face of slowly approaching death; his last trip out-of-door was to fell a small Christmas tree by his own efforts when nearly sightless.

He was an uncommonly manly little lad, with handsome features, blonde hair and blue eyes of a clear and direct expression.  His mother's fondest recollection was, how at the early age of three years, he loved to run to the barn with a tiny pail, to milk for her in case of a cooking emergency.

Albert Taylor Terry is buried in Rose Hill Cemetery in Eaton Rapids.
