It's hard to describe Mariposa, and my feeling for it, except from a city girls' point of view, it's WONDERFUL! I grew up in Los Angeles, where you locked your doors at 6 p.m. and never answered the door, to not even locking the doors! My mother had hurt her back, and couldn't work too much. My sister Donna, and her family lived in Mariposa, and we used to go there during summer vacations. While the sun came out (hopefully) at noon in L.A, the sun was out when the roosters' sang their song in Mariposa, and at night? The stars so close you could touch them! We moved in the summer of 1967, from surfers, and hairboys/hairgirls, to cowboys, and indians...It was an extreme change, I was ready to make! I know it sounds funny or alittle strange, but I truely enjoyed the rivers, and lakes, away from the oceans (ok, smog!)! Now, if I can get to either, I love it!! Anyway, to make this long story short, I call Mariposa my home, and the class/classes, and the friends I made, that I will always remember and love. And my love, and thanks to my family (Larry, Mike and Robin (Kaiser) )and the CLASS OF 1970 for making it so much easier and fun to live in the country! HERE ARE SOME "SPECIAL" CREDITS FOR THIS SITE TO EVEN EXIST: TO NADINE AND NANCY (PRESTON) FOR THEIR HARD WORK IN GETTING "ALOT" OF OUR CLASS TOGETHER FOR OUR REUNIONS, AND TO HOLLY (MATTHEWS)FOR GIVING ME THE IDEA FOR THIS WEBSITE. AND TO THE CLASS OF 1970, WHICH PROVES TO THIS DAY THAT, "THE CLASS OF 1970 STILL RULES"!! |
