Phantasm IV: Oblivion

I want to kick the Tall Man in his
 f*%@ing balls

1998, Orion Home Video

Starring: A. Michael Baldwin as Mike, Reggie Bannister as Reggie, Bill Thornberry as Jody, Heidi Leigh as Jennifer, and Angus Scrimm as The Tall Man!!

J-Rock's Review:

ZERO, ABSOLUTELY ZERO SKULLS out of 5

We had seen the first three Phantasm movies, and while they had gotten progressively worse, Rob-Dogg and I thought it would be cool to check out the latest installment in the series.

Big mistake.

I don't know where to begin in describing this abomination. Basically, the director found footage that was cut from the first movie, and then shot new footage to link all the random nonsense together.

The box says that Mike and Reggie find the secret of the Tall Man, and that this leads to a climactic battle. They find nothing, and there is no battle. The end is inconclusive, making another horrible sequel possible.

As for the plot, it seems like they made it up as they went along. They'd start the story in one direction, then suddenly go in another, with no apparent purpose or plan. For example, Mike realizes that he can travel back in time by walking through one of those metal forks that we've seen in all the movies. He goes back in time with the intention of stopping the Tall Man, who was once human, from becoming evil. This sounds good, so Mike goes back to the 1800's, swipes at the human Tall Man and misses. Then that's it. They then change directions and forget about this plotline.

I don't care if you liked the first three movies, only see this garbage if you are a die-hard Phantasm fan.
