Fly Away
As each golden day passes and fades, I grow a little more.
I had you caged, and now I know you soar.
I thought I was protecting you, from things the world would bring.
If fact I was preventing Earth, from listening to you sing.
I like to think we helped each other; learning as we went.
Learning how to love another, during all the time we spent.
The came a time when we became not best for each other.
I recognized and let you fly, into the arms of another.
But for now just fly, fly strong and free, I know we cannot speak.
I looked into our future, it would have been me that kept you weak.
So fly my love. It’s hard to see, and even harder to say.
I know that this was best for us; maybe we will meet again someday.
I know that you will make me proud,
I will do the same for you.
I’m sorry if I held you back.
I hope all your dreams come true.
