I don’t know enough to comment,

I don’t know enough to say,

I’m simply left to wonder

With every passing day.

I can’t see what troubles you,

Or what your eyes have seen;

What terrible situations,

In the past that you have been.

Your first step in love betrayed you.

The next was backwards I must say,

And now I watch and wonder

Which way you will step today.

I know there is a kindness,

Inside the outer shell.

I know there is a purity

That was forged out of your hell.

I can see it glowing,

Inside of you from here.

All I do is close my eyes,

Even when I’m far, you’re near.

I’d like to stand with you,

Just to be there by your side.

Whatever will become of that,

The future will decide.

Just know that someone cares for you

And will be there day after day

I think they may have told us wrong,

Some things gold can stay.
