mark feldman's summer trip
one day, four states - july 20
on my way out of mesa verde, i stopped at park point, from which you can see utah, arizona and new mexico.  the four pitcures bordering this text represent the view from the four directions.
in keeping with that theme, i stopped at four corners monument, which i expected to be just a little plaque off the road.  perhaps that's what it used to be, but now it charges $3 admission and has a plethora of souvenir and native american craft booths.  still cool though for what it is.  the navajo fry bread was quite tasty too.
after a few hundred feet in new meixco, the road cut into arizona, and led me to canyon de chelly monument, where i spent a couple hours hiking down to the 'white house' site, a mesa verde-esque ruin of a cliff dwelling.
and finally, i veered back up to moab, utah.  i checked into the lazy lizard hostel and prepared myself to be awed by utah's wonders...
let's m-arch into utah!
