california, fall 2004 part 2
The top of this page features some early season skiing right after my last final.  Laura and I pose at the top of Sugar Bowl, sun sets on Truckee, and the blue skies of Alpine Meadows with Lake Tahoe in the distance.
So was this school thing the right move?  Absolutely.  I think I've been a closet engineer all these years.  My favorite class with Production Planning and Inventory Models with Robert Leachman, one of the top innovators in Industrial Engineering of the semi-conductor Industry.  There are plans to apply some of his techniques to Biotech companies, and I may very likely get involved with that as a Ph.D. student.  If I pass my qualifiers, of course.  Below I am engaged in conversation with Ilan Adler, another professor who taught me Linear Programming (another class I enjoyed a lot).  And far below, some of my classmates and I celebrate the end of the semester with a few beers.
I recieved a surprise visit over Thanksgiving from my friends Vlad and Jen (pictured right amongst the redwoods in Marin County), also former Boston-dwellers who moved out west (to Portland, OR).  Other visitors so far include my dad and one of my brothers; my mom, my uncle, and maybe my other brother will make it out here in March.  I'm always eager to have visitors, so don't be shy!  Remember, it doesn't get cold here... at least not by the standards I'm used to.
