Minox C

The Minox C is the last of the Minox line to carry on the 1930's styling of the the original Riga and is credited with being the first camera ever to have an automatic "computerized" electronic shutter coupled to a sensitive CdS meter (a true milestone in camera history).  An original brochure on the camera can be found here.  The very earliest C's are outfitted with the legendary Complan lens and corresponding curved film gate, but the the later ones were updated to the newly designed Minox lenses with a flat film gate.  The Minox lens is the same design that is used on the current TL/X cameras, but is said not to be quite as sharp as the original Complan lens (for further details look here and here).  Even though I am using Techpan film I have not noticed any practical difference in sharpness in actual 8x10 prints from this camera when compared to those from my Minox IIIs.  The Minox C's only real shortcoming is its immense size, which is truly huge on a Minox scale of things being nearly 1.5 inches longer than the Riga, III/s or EC/X.
