Putting it together! |
March 18, 2001 I've had a few folks ask me how hard it it is to put the mechanics in the fuse. I recently removed the mechanics to find a vibration source (which I did). I thought I'd take a few pics of the assembly process as well as time how long it took to complete each step. Here it is: |
Step One: Tailboom and landing gear removed from frames. This was already done as I had just removed the mechanics from the fuse. Time: 0:00. |
Step Two: Set mechanics in place and screw frames to mounting plates in fuse. Time to complete step: 10 minutes. |
Step Three: Slide tail boom in from tail, get belt on gear, tighten 4 boom clamp bolts and connect tail rotor servo linkage (stock setup). Time to complete step: 16 minutes. |
Step Four: Install bolts on aft tail boom bracket, install vertical fin, install tailcone. Time to complete step: 11 minutes. |
Step Five: Install front fuselage half. Eight screws. Time to complete step: 8 minutes. Thats it! |
The MPEG of it flying is in the works. Hope to have it here soon! |
Here's a few pics of Dave Bottita's Raptor/Long Ranger. He used some of my ideas to build his and he say's it came out great and flies well, also! Looks good to me! If anyone else finishes one, send me a pic and I'll post it here. We'll start a collection!!! |
