Becky laid awake with her eyes closed in her bed with the sunshine hitting her face as she listened to the disc jockeys talking on her alarm clock radio. She could hear the early morning traffic already outside her apartment window. She tilted her head towards the radio and gasped when she realized that it was 8:00am and jumped out of her bed. She rapidly tried to get ready for work and finally was ready and searched for her keys frantically, when the phone rang. "Hello" she answered out of breath. "Are you coming or what?" the voice on the other line asked. It was her friend Nikki whom she had promised to meet her at Starbucks at 7:30 as usual . "I am so sorry, I woke up late and it was because I was up until 3 in the morning organizing and editing my stories." " Don't you have an editor for that?" "Yes, but you know me" "It's ok, just try to get here quick because I also have to get to work and i have great news to tell you" " Alright, See ya in a few".

She hung up and finally found her keys and headed to the Starbucks near her job at 5th Avenue. When she arrived she rushed to a cashier named Jake whom she had become friends with for the while that she had been going there."Hey Becky, looks like you're late today and Nikki isn't very happy about it" "Oh yeah, big time" "What'll it be?" "The usual" She paid and found Nikki sitting alone by the window reading "THE DAILY NEWS". The sun reflected on her short red hair which made her look as if she were glowing. "Hey, sorry I'm late" she apologized as she sat down. "We've covered that already" Nikki said without looking up from the article she was reading. Becky grabbed the paper preventing her from reading it and asked, "So what's the big news?"she asked taking a sip from her coffee. Nikki grinned forming dimples on her cheeks "I'm engaged!" Becky's big brown eyes widened. "Are you serious?" she said her mouth open in disbelief. "Yes! Danny proposed to me on Saturday night " she explained showing her the rock on her hand. "Congratulations! and you were thinking that Danny didn't love you anymore" "Yeah, i thought wrong" Danny and Nikki had been dating for quite awhile now, and Nikki was telling Becky not so long ago that she was ready for marriage. "Your ring is beautiful, I need details, how did he propose?"

"We were having dinner at this fancy resturant near The Plaza and it was beautiful. There were roses and candles and music. Then after Dinner we went on one of those horse carriage rides throughout Central Park and he proposed as we came across this bridge." she told her story as if it had just happened and sighed contently. "How romantic, I'm very happy for you" Becky said sincerely. "We set up a date tonight so both sides of our families could be there when we announce it to them." "I think we should go now, it's almost 9:00,"Becky said looking at her watch. They left the coffee shop and walked in their opposite directions towards their jobs. Becky arrived just in time to her work post and found a note on her desk that was from her boss.
