X-wing boomerangs or cross sticks have been around for centuries and are excellent first time boomerangs. We make two sizes, nine inch and fourteen inch. Both are light weight and "floaty" in the air. They work best in very little or no wind. They are also great indoors or under a street light at night. They are made of aged pine and have no metal in them, becouse of this and that they are held together with rubber bands they are safe for the gym floor. |
The X-9 |
The X-9 is a great kids and first timer boomerang. It is small and light weight, making it a safe way to start a youth in the sport. The X-9 makes about an eight foot circle and returns, with most of its energy spent, making it safe and easy to catch. It comes in neon colors, because they are bright, attractive and lightly finished. Neon Pink, Neon green, and Neon orange are currently avalible. $3.95 each |
The X-14 |
The X-14 is a great boomerang for older kids and adults. The X-14 makes approximately a 4 meter circle. It can be thrown easy or hard. When thrown easy, it circles and returns, with most of its energy spent, and is safe and easy to catch. When thrown hard it circles high into the air, making two or more circles, then slowly glides back down, most of the time, within reach of the thrower. Avalible in Neon Pink, Neon Green and Neon Orange. $9.95 each |

The X-7B. In the works is a tiny 7 inch balsa X-wing that I have been practicing with in the living room. Tiny but challenging has about a four or five foot range. The X-12B. The X-12B is a little smaller than the already in production X-14, made from balsa it takes a light touch and a good spin. This and the X-7B if they become production models will be indoor only models or for use outdoors on only the calmest days. On the drawing board is the Spruce Goose a 24 inch X-xing design made of spruce. This is large for an X-wing. Prototype 24 inch models have been execellent performers and I am looking forward to the project. If spruce proves unsuitable I may make them out of pine becouse the pine prototypes were so much fun. Also in the works is the model 750 gyrocopter. A monster with a 62 inch wing span and a double grip handle. Anybody who thinks he is man enough to throw it and then run under it to make the catch is welcome to give it a try. E-mail mark at turbo2u@socal.rr.com |
