| Ch 1 Web activities 1 & 2 1. The use of these computers will not be to replace the teacher instead they will be used as a tool to supplement my teaching strategy. With the current trend towards computerization in society students will need to be confident in their use of the computer. This does not mean that the students will need to know the history of the computer but instead they need to understand how to better interact and use the computer. The traditional use of the computer as a drill and practice system will still be used however the computer usage will be used more as a tool to learn new things not go over old things. 2. Currently I have not seen these devices used for open-ended instruction. The software and the technology is getting better and I feel that handheld computers can be used for a more open-ended instruction in the future. These devices will allow teachers to more effectively communicate with each other and create a more collaborative learning environment. |
| NTeQ Portfolio Activity 1 Considering that I will be teaching a computer class such as web design or graphic design computer usage will be key to my students learning. For the Web design I will have the students begin by evaluating web pages for the neatness and other qualities. As the students determine the qualities of a good web or bad page we will discuss these qualities. |
