January 24, 2009. My hubby and me in Tagaytay, Philippines. The Taal volcano is in the background. We're at the back dining area of Josephine's restaurant, which serves yummy Filipino food! Brian was able to try lechon de leche for the first time there. It has now been over 7 1/2 years since my last blood transfusion! :)

This website is an awkward thing for me to do. I usually like to keep my private life private, however, I have experienced a life-altering event that began on October 16, 1999 which lead me to some experiences that I feel may be helpful to others who have found themselves in a similar situation. To cut to the chase, I was diagnosed with aplastic anemia (AA)--bone marrow failure, and this site is for sharing my experiences in hopes of helping others who are dealing with this disease.
