Marlborough Pride Neighborhood Association - Minutes October 11, 2001

President Tonya Hood called the meeting to order at 6:30 P.M.

1. Attendance:

Twenty neighborhood residents were present. The KCPD had two representatives present. The East Meyer Community Association Board had two representatives present.

2. Officer Elections:

Dennis Morrow, Chairman of the East Meyer Community Association Board of Directors, conducted the election for the new President of the Marlborough Pride Neighborhood Association. Bill Goff, Sr. was elected President and LaTonya Slavens was elected Vice-President for a year term. The EMCA Board members stated that officers ordinarily serve a two-year term, but since 2001 is an odd year, the newly elected officers would serve one year terms.

3. Public Safety Update:

P.O. Gaddis and P.O. Britten of the Kansas City Police Department attended. They asked if residents had any concerns or problems areas. A resident expressed concern over a recurrent problem on the Paseo. The officers were aware of the problem. A resident expressed concern over abandoned vehicles. In order for the Police Department to take action, abandoned vehicles must be on the street. Vehicles on private property must be reported to Codes.

4. Other:

LaTonya Slavens, Vice President, plans to start a newsletter for MPNA. It will contain such items of interest birth announcements, recipes and news of yard sales.

5. President's Report:

Bill Goff expressed his goals for MPNA: Having no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 7:35 P.M.
