These are games that are available or will be to buy in your local retail store, or even from the publisher online store. These are mainly games that I have played or want to play because they aren't out yet. Some are games that  some of my friends play and recommend.

Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2: The original game was good but this sequel is lots better. It is well worth the money if you can find it. It's expansion Yuri's Revenge is pretty good too.

Command & Conquer: Renegade: If you ever wonder what is was like to be one of little guys you wasted a lot of in the C & C games. Then try this fairly good first person version of the game.

Nox: This game was a great filler for all the Diablo fans waiting for Diablo II to come out. Well even with Diablo II out this is still a good game. It features large dungeons and some unique multi-player type modes.

SimCity 3000 and Unlimited: The latest version of Maxis best know sim games, and still good. This is probably their best to date. Eats lots of time with no violence.

SimCity 4: Yes they did make another one. It's pretty good too. Not only is the city building good, but you can build multiple cities in a region and have them all connected to one another. You can also import and move your Sims from The Sims into houses in the cities. So this a great additional sim game; kudos to Maxis; again.

The Sims : Well if Simcity isn't the best know game then this one is. A top 10 seller for at least most of the last 3 years. It is boring and very, very addictive. It has 3 expansion that are selling strongly. It is great for adults and kids alike and very easy to learn and play. Give it a try. Oh and the expansions are Living Large, House Party, Hot Date, Vaction and the newest one Unleashed. The Sims also now have an online game, which seems to be doing well.

Games published by EA but the developers are independent companies still.

Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri: Sid left Activison and Civ. behind. Oh No!! Okay the race was on could Activison or Sid new company Fraxis could make a better Civ. like game. Well Sid won. Give Alpha Centauri a try it is well worth it if you are looking for a good turn based strategy game.

Black & White: A 'god' game where you control a giant creature and a race of peoples. You can choose to be a good god (white) or and evil one (black). The ads were funny but the game is great fun. It even has some fun online support too. It has a kewl new expansion out as well. Creature Isle.

Medal of Honor: Allied Assault: This is a great fps game that came out of EA. Set in World War II and uses a heavily modified version of the Quake III engine. It's just a fun game to play. An I hear Online play is great too. Medal of Honor has branched out and now has an expanison SpearHead.

Sid Meier's Sim Golf: Some Sid took the time off from making Civ. 3 and made this great sim game. Make the golf course of dreams in many places around the world and then play them as well even in championship tournaments. Great fun.

Half-Life: Well this FPS game is one of the best and has weathered the last few years well. If you are looking for a FPS game that has a great storyline and some great action too. Opposing Forces was/is a great and the add Blue Shift is only really worth while if you haven't got the first one but the High definition files are great to bring the graphics up to date.

Half-Life: Counter Strike: This is a stand alone or add game that started as a mod for Half-Life. It is played so much that I don't think anything will dethrone it. Basically you play on one of two sides to complete an objective and working together is a must. Check this out. And even more stuff at Counter-strike.net.

Home World: This has been the best 3-D RTS game ever. Space based RTS with simple combat and lots of freedom. Give it try.

Tribes 2: Well this game was supposed to raise the bar on the rock Tribes game from Dynamix. Alas it was good game after the bugs were fixed but that was after the fact that lots a people got pissed off. and Sierra has now closed down Dynamix. Still get this game get the patches and go kick some but in great multi-player game.

Arcanum: This game is a RPG. Its a mix of Fallout and Baldur's Gate. It an interesting universe where technology and magic meet. Which way will your character go or will you ride right down the middle of the two.

Diablo: The first of it's type. 3/4 isometric view, point and click mouse control and a RPG to beat. And that doesn't mention it's global spanning online playability. It's expansion (Hellfire) was good too.

Diablo II: The sequel to the best selling and award winning RPG game. This one has better graphic a deeper story line and more option. It's online play is kick ass too. The expansion is great; Lords of Destruction. IF you don't give this game a shot, your doing yourself a great injustice.

WarCraft: What can I say about this game that hasn't been said already at one time or another. This was probably the first or at least the first one that brought Real Time Strategy games to the for front. Good game if you can find it and run it.

WarCraft II: The second most popular RTS game and still a widely played game. Check it out. At least the Battle.Net version.

WarCraft III: Well, Its out and its Wow. Blizzard has made another killer game. This game has all the strategy of its two predecessors and more. The game keeps unit numbers smaller for more strategy mayhem and then throws in hero characters to boot. The heroes gain experience and go up levels gaining more power and greater abilities, don't worry if they die, because you can bring them back to life. The campaign is great as you plan all sides; human, undead, orc and night elf. Worth every dollar go out and get it, don't forget free play on Blizzard.net.

World of WarCraft: This will be a game many should be playing late this summer or fall (if blizzard luck holds; then next year) online. Online role-playing in the world of WarCraft.

StarCraft: Years after WarCraft Blizzard brought out this stunning RTS game. Three races and so well balanced that no one race far out strips another. And after three years it is still one of the best RTS games ever... Oh, and don't forget to get Brood War.

Baldur's Gate: A great RPG based on D&D 2nd edition rules in the Forgotten Realms setting. A great game all around. Story, graphics, and game play .... Check it out.

Baldur's Gate: Tales of the Sword Coast: The perfect add-on for the perfect game.

Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn: And the good name gets even better. With the improved graphics, continuation of a good story line. Black Isle does even better then the last time. The add-on Throne of Bhaal is great to go along with it.

Icewind Dale: One of Black Isle and Bioware's main titles. This game uses the BG engine. The game play is much the same but with differnet items and a prime focus on combat. And still a great game.

Icewind Dale II: This one is out now, I haven't touched it yet, I'm to busy playing Neverwinter Nights, but I hear thats really good if you like the first one and B.G.

Neverwinter Nights: I and many of my friends are waiting in breathless anticipation for this one by Black Isle Studios. This game will have a fairly long single player portion but it's primary focus will be on it's multi-player component. With easily to learn level designer and focused so one player will be possible be a DM like character to change things on the fly. D & D sessions with all the old people across the US.

Fallout: This game is getting more and more dated by the day. This was the first style RPG to be set in a futuristic post nuclear world. It has a very interesting skill development system back with a great storyline. A true RPG of the Year game.

Fallout II: A sequel to there best selling game, with a new storyline, better graphics, a reworked skill system. This game also won a few RPG of the Year awards and is still one of the best RPG I've played. Well worth the look if you can find. There are some people out there waiting for a 3rd Fallout.

Fallout Tactics: Brotherhood of Steel: Many when they saw this thought it would be the 3rd Fallout game, however they were wrong. The development time thought they'd combine the RPG with a strategy theme. For the most part the game works. The game is set in the Fallout World, where you are a member of the B. O. S.  The story line is okay, the action is based around your main character and his unit. I liked having fun with the small unit tactics this game brings out. Apparently the action online is pretty cool too.

Descent 3: This is an old game; so old in fact that its barely windows compatible. This game line (for those of you who don't remember) took the FPS line of games to a new area. Vehicles. You controlled the game as a FPS game but you were flying around in a space vehicle. Your job was to put down a rebellion of robot miners and defense ship. Great fun.

Freespace 2: The full name of this game is actual Descent: Freespace 2: The Great War and expansion of Silent Hunter. This game is of the same line as the Wing Commander series, however, it is better in many aspects. The game has a liner and mission based story line. The flight mechanics of the game are realistic and the size of ships in the game are very very much in to scale. Capital ships are huge and fighters look like fleas next to them. Just try the game to believe it.

Starfleet Command: This ship is a strategy game mixed with a flight sim. You are cast as a captain of a Star Trek ship, you can choose to be one of several races in the game. This game is far outstanding as a multi-player game, then a single player game. The Orion Pirates version has outstanding sales.

Planescape: Torment: This a Black Isle game based on the BG Infinity Engine. They increased the size of the characters on the display screen. The engine is also modified to be more 'wordy'. They track your responses to questions, attitude, and truth. Those are used later to open side quests, change your alignment and other stuff. Making this even more of a real RPG, in my opinion.

Roller Coaster Tycoon: This is the tycoon game that started the craze. All it takes is one person who likes this game to show another and 6 people are buying it the next day. In this game your to make a theme park. Your job, hire staff, place restrooms, food buildings, rides and make roller coasters. Check this game out. It's the best.

Roller Coaster Tycoon 2: Alright you've played the first to death; why a new one that looks like the old one? Simple, because this one is better. The scenarios are better, and better organized. You can change what height something is placed without raising and lowering the land. More coasters, a scenario editor/creator, and a coaster designer with no money restrictions. Just check it out and see for your self. Oh and you can download some of your favorite scenarios from the first RCT on the RCT2 webpage. Chris Sawyer Rocks!

No One Lives Forever: A FPS game where you assume the role of Cate Archer, Secret Agent for the S. A. S.. This game was great. The story was compelling and the action great. Words do not do this game justice you just have to play it.

No One Lives Forever 2: That's right Cate Archer is back. This chick is back and kickin' some major tail in this new story. Grab a copy and start the 60's spy error spoofing all over again. Great FPS fun.

Counter Strike: Condition Zero: In a nut shell, when this game comes out it will be a single player game of the great multi-player game; Half-Life: Counter Strike.

Empire Earth: This RTS game is from one of the makers of the best selling game Age of Empires. The game plays just like the Age of Empire game, but it spans more ages and has lots more units. This is a must for any RTS game fan. Check out its expansion as well.

Total Annihilation: I never really played this game. Mainly because I was guiltily of playing to much Starcraft. This was one of the most overlooked RTS games ever (or close to it). It mainly featured two sides in a now to futuristic setting. The game allowed to select large numbers of units at one time (20 I think).

Total Annihilation: Kingdoms: This game is a fantasy set of a RTS game with four races. The races aren't as well balanced as they are in Starcraft however I tend to like the story a little better and the overall challenge the game had.

Quake II: There isn't much online about this game any more but. This game is a kick ass sequel to Quake. One of the most successful FPS games ever. Most people, I think, ignored the single player game and mainly play multi-player. For it's age it is still widely played online. Check out mods here at the headquarters for that. Planet Quake

Quake III: Arena: Quake 3 is the latest installment in the Quake series. Instead of focusing on a single player game though, Id Software made this game a completely multi-player game, with a small single player mode. The single player game is mainly for practice.

Return to Castle Wolfenstien: Return to the castle that start FPS games in the industry. This game uses the Quake 3 engine to it's full effect. The how place is creepy and very well done. Personal I like MOHAA better but this game is second best right behind it...

Soldier of Fortune: Yes another FPS game. This game takes another new approach, and that is location on the targets. There are 8 different hit location on the human models in this game. You can actual blow off heads, arms, and legs as long as you aim at them. This game has a pretty good multi-player as well. A word of warning though this game is bloody. For some mod's and info check out Planet Soldier.

Soldier of Fortune II: Double Helix: This is the new SoF planned to come out soon. Not only will the game be enlarged and modernized. They will include 16 hit locations and the different weapons can have different effects to those location (in relation to their power). I can't wait to release some stress by blowing of limbs with this game.

Vampire - the Masquerade: Another game I haven't played, but some of my friends wont like it if I don't mention at least. This game is based FPS game is based on the Vampire RPG table top game. From what I understand this is a really good game.

Tachyon: The Fringe: A space flight sim. Featuring the wise cracking voice of Bruce Campbell. Although the game got lack luster reviews and a lot of people didn't real like it. I did. The flight model is pretty good and the mission flowed fairly well. Just check it out and form your own opinion.

X-Wing Alliance: The last flight based game put out of Lucas Arts, not on a video game system. This game puts you in the place of a last survive of a merchant family, who joins the Rebellion. The single player game is fun and so is the multi-player game.

Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II: I only played a little of this FPS shooter set in the Star Wars world. But, I was pretty good looking and fun to play. Choose your force powers, choose between the Light side or the Dark. And go kick some ass.

Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast: This is a new FPS from Lucas Arts. I've played and heard a lot of stuff about this game. Well; my opinion is that the first few levels are pretty uninspired, the same old FPS but once you get Jedi powers the game gets better. The is something truly satisfying in force choking a storm trooper and banging him around a few times the throwing you light-saber at him. Try it for the Jedi powers and get the cheat so you cut off body parts.

Star Wars: Galaxies: and Official Site. This is a new MMRPG game being designed by Sony and Lucas Arts. The Sony studio doing this game is the same that's did that small MMRPG named Everquest. I had mention because it should be big and good. I man even try this one.

Mech-Warrior 4: Vengeance: Well Microsoft bought Microprose and Mech-Warrior with it. A lot of people were doubting  that this game wasn't going to be any good after MS got their hands on it. Well they were wrong for the most part this game was better then the 3rd, However it seems the Multi-player community didn't all transfer over a great many still play that one.

Mech-Warrior: Mercenaries: Still the will designed game even though Microprose is now Microsoft. The Merc aspect of this game is great. It still seems like Mech 4 but the beat down is more satisfying because you really need that paycheck at the end of the mission.

Links LS 2000:, Links Classic, Another game acquired from Microprose. This is perhaps the best golf game available with lots of realistic courses and methods of hitting the ball. Classic is 2000 with all 21 course that came as add-ons to 2000. Worth the money.

Links LS 2001: The next golf game in this series and still great.

Links Ls 2003: The new and upcoming game of this series and the screen shots makes it look wonderful. Should be another great game in a long line of them.

Age of Empires: This is a RTS game that raised the bar on most 'medieval' RTS games. In single player, you follow history in several little campaigns developing from the stone age to medieval times. The single player game is good but multi-player was/is better.

Age of Empires II: The Age of Kings: This sequel to the best selling A. O. E. and its expansion The Conquerors. This game is even better then the original in the fact that it has updated graphics, game-play, and many others. This games signal play is fun and challenge not to mention the strong on-line multi-player. If you like RTS games you better get this one.

Age of Mythology: Do I dare say it (YES). The next age is here. This is another great RTS game from Microsoft and Ensemble Studios. The take an already good game and improved it. The characters are 3d the game is bigger, the God powers are amazing. This game had me captive for hours. Meteors from the Gods. If you liked the previous Ages you'll like this Age.

Asheron's Call: I haven't played this MMRPG at all. But from the number of people trying to get me to play with them. It must be real fun. The fact that its the second biggest MMRPG game available right now says something about too.

Combat Flight Simulator 2: This is one the biggest WW II flight sim's available. Microsoft has done an amazing job with this sim line again. If your a desktop pilot and want to sling a few bullets this is your game then.

Flight Simulator 2002: This flight sim is still a strong game for Microsoft. The realism of the flight model is really really believable. You could almost start your pilot training here, I wouldn't recommend flying a real play with only this program as your instructor. But if you want to fly big jets and other real play at home then you should play this simulator.

Mech Commander 2: Okay Microsoft should that they could make a quality Mech Warrior game but could they do the same for the award winning strategy game? The answer wholly sh*t they can. This game is much better then the first in many aspects, had a few problems but the game is good.

Zoo Tycoon: This game was well hyped by Microsoft as they entered the Tycoon game area. Well it had poor reviews and could stand a few improvements. However if you have played this game or are wondering if you should, you should. This game is rather kind of fun and addictive. Now has two expansions Dino Digs and Marine, Just by the marine one it comes with both.

Dungeon Siege: I have to admit I only really tried this one because I was waiting for Neverwinter Nights. However, I was not disappointed. I haven't beat it yet, but I will. If you are a RPG fan give this game ago. The level system is neat, the pack animal is great, wonderful spell effects and pretty fun game to play.

Daikatana: I only mention this game because it is the prime example of everything that can go wrong in game production. More years in the making a poor game. Poor I think only because Murphy's laws proved all to true for this company.

Hitman: Codename 47: A FPS or is it Third person. Doesn't matter this game is a great action game anyway you look at it. Your an assassin and a secret agency hires you out to do all kinds of jobs. And you have to find your own way to do them. That includes changing close and silent but deadly. Great game.

Hitman 2: Silent Assassin: This game is out and if you liked the first one, this one is better. Better you say. Well the developers listened and put in mid mission saves. The levels are big and with many different ways to do your killing, great weapons and a solid engine. Play it and go for Silent Assassin ranking to get better weapons.

Project: IGI: This game has had a pretty lack luster performance in the market. However I tried the game and I liked it. Most people had some criticism for the game, but it was still pretty enjoyable.

Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 2: I haven't tried this one, but everyone I know who has liked it..

Deus Ex: This FPS or Role-playing is amazing. First it spikes a lot of talk of how to classify it, because it is a FPS mixed with some role-playing elements. This game is very very challenging, give it a go.

Deus Ex 2:

Age of Wonders: This is a turn based strategy game. Pretty fun game but a little rough around the edges. Pretty neat idea, hopefully it will improve with the next installment. But worth the look.

Age of Wonders II: This is the up a coming sequel to the lack luster Age of Wonders. But it should be worth a look at.

Max Payne: A cop framed for murder of his wife and kid and nobody that knows he is a cop, so he has nothing to lose. Sounds like a tired movie storyline. But oh my God. This is the best action game available. Its a 3rd person game that plays just like a FPS and let me say, once you have used bullet time there is no going back. You must buy this game!!! No ifs, ands, or buts... BUY IT, PLAY IT!

Oni: This is another one of those games that are only really mentioned because it was a great concept but poorly made. Well the only thing really poor about it was getting use to the control method; that and I did more killing using hand to hand combat, then with the weapons. But if you like cartoons and some action, kill some time with this game.

Railroad Tycoon II: This game is getting old; but is still a pretty good game. Its a strategy game where you build Railroads all around the US. You make money from what you ship and the factory and stuff you own around the railroad stops. Can be pretty fun and addictive. Try playing it against a friend.

Serious Sam: Another game I haven't played, but everyone I've talked to has really liked it. From my understanding its a FPS set in a desert environment, with hoards of enemies coming at you all the time. Its also suppose to be pretty funny too. The only downside I hear is that it repeats a lot with its boards. The is now a Serious Sam 2 and it is doing well.

Stronghold: This game kind of sneaked up on some people. Not many people were really interested in a game classified as a 'castle sim'? But hey you got to try this game. You have two different campaign styles; combat and economic, then there is free build mode and a good multi-player aspect. If you like RTS, sims, or castles you need to try this game.

Stronghold: Crusader: The same as Stronghold, nay. This one catapults you into the time of the crusades. Led the Europeans against the Muslim that hold the holy land or lead the other side. Either way spend some hours hair pulling to beat this good game.

Tropico: A neat little game that is classified as a Sim or RTS game. You become a dictator of a island in the tropics. Or job is to make it prosper. Its pretty fun and well worth the price. I haven't tried it with the new expansion Paradise Island.

IGI 2: Covert Strike: Another game on the slate to come out. If they fixed the stuff wrong with the last game and lengthened the story, it will be a great game.

Operation Flashpoint: Cold War Crisis: This is a first person shooter that is set in the middle of a war. And watch out this is just like being in a war. You better patch it right off or buy the gold version. But if you like realism and a good war and a strong challenge. A big draw to this game is not just the FPS action but you can drive Hum-V's (can't spell), Trucks, tanks, and even Helicopters. All that a Multi-player too. Check out the gold edition and this game now has 3 expansions.

Civilization 3: I played hours and hours of Civ 2. I waited, and waited for a Civilization 3 and then Sid Meier left Activision to make his own company, oh no. Well we waited through Call to Power and Alpha Centauri contest and Alpha Centauri won. But then Call to Power 2 came out but where was Civ 3. Well its here now and well worth the wait. Sid made another great TBS (turn based strategy) game. I've already lost a couple of days and expect to lose more. PLAY THIS GAME! Go multiplayer in several modes including continues mode (no turns) with the expansion Play the World, don't forget it also adds new civilizations too.

Master of Orion 3: O boy another game not out. And to be truth full I know very little about this game. I do know I want to play this game when it gets here. Alright its a space based strategy or sim like game where you play as one of several races and its going to be a great game because the first two were good.

Monopoly Tycoon: This a Tycoon based on the monopoly board game. They made this game very very interesting and kind of fun. Give a try and see for your self.

The Wheel of Time: This game is based on the Unreal engine. Its a FPS game based on the Robert Jordan books. Well the game pretty much sucks. But the Books are great.

Unreal: What's Unreal? Another FPS game. I haven't played this one either but it was really really popular and one of these days I'm going to play this.

Unreal 2: Another game not yet released. But one to watch when it comes out. The screen shots promise a beautiful gaming environments and some fearsome creatures. If its anything like the rest of the games in this line and from this developer, its going to be big.

Unreal Tournament: So you've planned Quake, then play this one. This game is a multi-player game foci. The mod's are great, CTF and Assault are the best. Check out the massive gaming on-line with this one. I got some friends who are die hard Quake II fans, and they play UT over Quake 3.

Unreal Tournament 2003: That same great game-play you spent hours playing online or a LAN parties is back. It now boost a better graphics engine, better AI and refined game modes. My new favorite mode is Bombing Run, nothing beats a ultra violent game of rugby. In the single player game as you progress through the modes of play, you can choose your teammates and trade for new ones. Multi-player online or LAN is still the best way to play.

America's Army: I had some doubts about playing this game. Really now a FPS made by the US Army! Come on now it's gotta suck. But it doesn't really, Download it for free and play online, Heck my phone connection played as rock solid with as little lag as a cable modem. Qualify and jump into some action. It's worth a look.

Angband Un-fortunely do to it's small cult following this game really has no graphics available; but I really like this freeware game that has been around for a long, long time. It's a fairly small download so I attached on the link. Here is the newest web page for it... Thangorodrim or here at a new location.Thangordrim. I also like this hack for it ZAngband.
