THE SILENT CRIES . . .

She opens her eyes meeting the dawn of a new day . . .

Will this be the day she wonders that her pain will end.

She lies there reflecting, she can't remember a day when she didn't feel the pain, it seems like a life time ago when she felt good.

So many emotions have passed through her.

The denial that this was really happening, that somehow it would get better, it would go away.

The frustration because the pain is never ending, it has gone on for so long and it seems like there is no solution in sight.

The anger wondering why this has happened to her.

The loss, loss of the freedom she once had in her life and in turn the loss of the person she once was.

The depression she feels because the pain consumes her, it controls and dictates her life.

And so, she silently cries . . .

But she has come to realize and accept that this is her life right now. This experience has brought out her inner strength, a strength that she didn't realize she possessed. It has renewed her thoughts on hope and faith and the will to survive, so she carries on.

People who endure chronic health conditions come to a sense of peace of what their life has become as well as any limitations they may have and this becomes their survival element. ~ Marsbar
